so i rented a game from blockbuster, get home and put it in. while it doesnt want to be read. The disk itself is clean enough and not scratchy, but it just doesnt work. my other games work no problem, but apparently blockbuster sucks. second time this has happened to me. anyone know a way to make it work?
ps2 btw

Yeah, I've had this problem countless times when renting games. People just can't take care of stuff, especially if it is others property, dumbasses. But yeah, sometimes the scratches are hard to see, but will still affect the game no matter the size. Or your console just doesn't like it.
Blockbuster does suck a big fat one, I agree ;).

Try hitting your system really hard. If it doesnt work after that then its broken.

Family Video is shit to rent games from. Yeah sometimes they're cheap but they never work. I always got another free game because we had to drive out there to say it doesn't work. Renting Wii games is like $7 for five nights. Our Blockbuster closed a few weeks ago so I rent from Giant Eagle. They aren't expensive and they don't have a big failure rate

shit don't do that man...I remember putting a friends medal of honor game into my ps2..and it started the whole grinding issue..hitting the top of it every few minutes helped...but I think the main problem is the disc reading laser or something. I heard the solution was to get it cleaned.
btw psychotic noob..i just saw your avatar..holy shit whats that from

DO NOT get into the habit of doing that each time. I lost a perfectly good copy of John Q. when I whacked it too hard and the disc got stuck.

Dude, thats become my new saying. Whenever someone has a problem, I just tell them to "flick it."
Your TV stopped working? Flick it!
Your head hurts? Flick it!
Your girlfriend is whiny? Flick it!
Cant "get it up?" Flick it!

for those of you worried that im gonna wreck my ps2, odds are i wont. i only flick it for the game i rented, because every single game i already own works beautifully so misterE its not the lazer reader. if you want to know where to flick, its the thing that spins the disk.
and moocowzrock, if your telling the truth you just made my month.
and my avatar, i beleive i found it in the "funny pictures that dont deserve their own thread" thread

yeah, I've really been using it. The specific examples I said are just jokes, but I've been saying it where I can. You cant even imagine how it made me laugh when you said it originally...

My old Sports games never worked but I flipped the PS2 on its side to stand in the vertical position. You have NO IDEA how easy that was....
Put it in the vertical position and if it STILL doesn't work then do something else. lol
