Don't get Red Steel. It's boring and repetitive.

The only good thing I played for Wii was Wii sports, and that's included.

zelda's a given...only get wario if you're friends would want to play it with you, because its just not nearly as fun by yourself
SSX Blur comes out in what, a month? that's gonna be awesome, and wait for Mario Galaxy or Smash Bros
there just isnt much out thats very good yet (at least not worth $50 in my opinion)

I have 6 Wii games and the ones that I love the most are Zelda and Wario Ware. I got a bunch of VC games too.

What's virtual console? I've been thinking about getting a wii when I get the money, but I never heard of that.

Virtual Console is the general name for all the old-school console games you can "buy and download" onto your wii. Basically a bunch of popular games coming from the N64, NES, SNES, Genesis/Megadrive, and TG-64 console systems. There's a decent list already and they regularly update it with new games. Prices vary.

Oh ok. I knew you could do that, I just never heard it called that. Thanks.

Yeah get two games and have them get you 5000 wii points for virtual console downloads. I got ice hockey and super mario world and have played them almost as much as wii sports which is an awesome game. They also have another 9 game pack coming out that includes a free controller. Id go for that.
So far ive found all sports games to be awesome and others to be boring. Even rapala fishing is pretty fun despite the awful reviews

Well in a couple weeks, Sonic and SSX Blur are coming out, those look like fun. Then in March there are quite a few like Prince of Persia and Medal of Honour, etc.

So far I have
Far Cry
Excite Truck
Super Monkey Ball
Elebits
Wii Sports
Splinter Cell
I really enjoyed all of them but I think Splinter Cell and Elebits were my favorites, and this is coming from someone who used to hate Splinter Cell. Far Cry is hit or miss. Ubisoft fucked up the graphics but if that doesn't bother you then it's not a bad game. I liked it better than Red Steel. It didn't glitch as much and just controlled better IMO. Wii Play is also coming out this week and it's like Wii Sports but it comes with an Extra Remote. If you like playing old games then Wii Points re good to have. If you have a wireless router you won't need to buy the adapter. Also I'd suggest an SD card just incase you run out of room
