It's pretty sad if the Xbox cannot keep itself cooled. Why should you need an additional product to cool the Xbox when it should do it itself.

The Xbox does do it itself, only suckers buy this stuff.

People think that when the Xbox is running hot, as it always is, that it's gonna meltdown or something.

oh man. it's made by pelican. whatever you do don't ever buy anything made by pelican. pelican products don't even last at all. someone even told me that most of the stuff pelican sells are items that have been used already. they take that product, fix it, and then sell it again on their label. no thanx pelican.

I can design an effective cooling solution for my PC, you'd think a set of professional engineers would be able to do the same for a 360 wouldn't you?

I have something similar to that on my 360. Its called the Intercooler by NYCO. Works pretty good and hasn't broke down on me since I got it for Christmas

Only retards like the few above thinks this stuff works. It dosnt do anything, and you dont need it. You are saying yeah it works pretty good, but at what. You dont know what the hell the temp was before and you dont know now, I can gurantee you it makes no difference, you are the same people who think that buying a pill will make your penis bigger.

Wow, looks like this thing has the same exact, if not less, effectiveness than just setting a fan in front of the xbox >_>;

...I'll take 30!

My only regret is that I don't have an xbox~

I dont have a cooler and mine hasn't broken down since Christmas either. Maybe some people just suck at common sense.

I thought consoles had OS's nowadays. Surely they can just DL some monitor for the CPU sensors and whatnot... surely they had enough common sense to do that before buying one.

If not it is our responsibility as people who know what the fuck we are talking about to flame 'em good.

A USB-powered cooling solution for the smokin' hot 360.

thats why you need one.

So... has anyone actually run a proper benchmark?

Surely the 360 has some kind of temperature sensor for the CPU at the very least.

http://gear.ign.com/articles/763/763900p1.html

did you even read the article?

it basically says that the product is a piece of shit:

The Cooler has two primary weaknesses. The most blatant is the fact that it only works with 360's that are vertically oriented, so people with a 360 sitting VCR style will have to look elsewhere. The Cooler is also about two inches tall all by itself, which makes a vertical 360 somewhat more precarious and prone to toppling over. Though The Cooler base is wider than the 360, it actually stands upon 4 small rubber feet that are not positioned at the perimeter of the base, which makes the whole apparatus a little unstable.

The second weakness is the fact that USB doesn't provide enough power to run multiple cooling fans and, as such, The Cooler is limited to one, as opposed to the Intercooler 360's three. The Cooler's single fan pushes air into the base of the 360 in an effort to lower internal operating temperature. The effect is likely somewhat limited as the 360's internal chassis (not the plastic shell) has much smaller air holes on the bottom than the primary vents on the top and back sides.

Product will void your waranty first of all. 2nd these, and all, coolers are trash. They suck much needed power from your xbox and also blow dust inside.
The xbox is designed to run at high temps so don't be scured. Just keep it in the open(not in a shelf) and it will be fine.

How do you fit such a thing in a shelf?

Durt

Alot Of people put these in shelves and entertainment centers. DONT DO IT!
It will cause the console to overheat. Trust me I know from experiance. The best way to cool your 360 is to just point a regular oscilating house fan at it. I have also heard of people putting laptop cooling pads under the 360.

It's pretty sad if the Xbox cannot keep itself cooled. Why should you need an additional product to cool the Xbox when it should do it itself.

It's funny cause that have coolers for the original XBox too. The main reason why the 360 tends to overheat is because one it is a pretty high-class computer cramped in a tiny box, and two is because some people are stupid and don't take care of their equipment. The 360 is a computer and I still see people pressing the power button off and on right away and couldn't figure out why the 360 dashboard froze up. I've seen 360s sitting on the ground getting stepped on, cramped in a bookshelf next to a lavalamp, and things stacked on top of the 360. Don't forget stupid people who gets mad and whips the controller against the wall, breaks it then complain about it. IMO when the updated 360 comes out there will be less issues, but stupid people are always around. God I hate stupid people.

Wanna keep your 360 cool? Read the god damn manual about how to keep it from overheating. Unless you live in a POS house that's 110 degrees inside you won't have a problem.

I bought one of those the other day. My 360 sits in a cramped lil entertainment center in my room, end even though it doesn't have a back to it I wanted to make sure my $400 hunk of plastic didn't overheat and die. Plus I'm not a broke ass and can afford the staggering $20 price tag.

my xbox360 runs fine I have had less than a second of frame fuckup once but that was when I had just had a takedown on burnout revenge and the screen was turning green and went all weird for a few frames so I think it was software not hardware malfunction that time

and the only other thing I have had is the odd freeze but that seems to have stopped since the last update
