only known truth to this article is 45nm Chips by 2008, a redesign is COMPLETELY rumor for now, keep that in mind.

I don't expect this to happen until late in the PS3's life span.

It's been done on the PSX and PS2, so this shouldn't be a surprise. I don't think we'll see it until '08 though, because the 45nm chip won't be a replacement until '09.

They've already officially stated, they will bring out new versions of the Playstation 3 as the years go by ...

It always happens and it's good for both the Market and the Company making the Product. More versions of Systems mean older ones pricing gets lowered and the newer versions sell more.

If this happens I'll pick up the a second-hand first generation PS3. I cancelled my Euro-Launch Pre-Order.

They won't announce it untill a while after the launch.

But, I love my enormous PS3. If it was smaller, I don't think I would be as physically attracted to it.

The 360 is supposedly planning the same thing...

I really dont like the idea of making more powerful later consoles...it gives different advantages for people in online games and things, which causes and imbalance...but I suppose having a big-screen TV in 1080 with a high-end surround sound system also gives someone an advantage...

I dont know, we'll see.
