Before the Wii was launched there were rumors about a redesigned Wii to be released this year or next year that could play dvds & do other things.
Anyone heard anymore about this?

Does no one read anymore? This is only confirmed for Japan. So if you live in Japan, you have something to worry about. Otherwise, dont expect anything.

There would be no reason to even buy it. DVD players are $20 now. I have never used a game system as a movie player so it doesn't bother me if they release a new one.
