Xbox 360 Customer "support"

So I sat on hold for 40 minutes with Xbox customer support before I lost the will to live and hung up.

When I turn my 360 on, a single red light illuminates in the bottom left corner and I get a message telling me to call customer support. I've found a lot of internet talk about 3 red lights, but not one...

Anyways, I fiddled with the power cord and it seemed to start working ok, but what the hell was the problem? I spent £300 on this thing, so I'm a little curious.

What is the error message? (you sure light isn't bottom right corner?)

I'm near 100% sure it said something like E67? I had the exact same issue with my replacement 360, I had to unplug/plug the power cord each session to make it work.

If that is the case go back to the store and swap it out.

yeah..i had the 3 red lights on my first xbox, and the power chord light was yellow, not green. i called the xbox number, talked to a guy, they sent me a box, i sent them my xbox in the box. they couldnt find what was causing the problem, so they sent me a free brand new one.

I sent mine in last monday because I got three red lights and I'm waiting for it to get back. It sucks because my Crackdown preorder came yesterday.

Wow, 360's aren't made very well. Lots of people seem to be having issues with them.

Anywho, mine seems to be ok now that I tweaked the power cord. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get worse.

Yeah same with me, they sent me a brand new one so that "I could continue enjoying my Xbox gaming experience" hahaha

is usualy some form of data corruption. Data most oftenly becomes corupted if the time and date on your xbox are not correct. for instance if you saved a game in 01-01-2007 but your time is set to 01-01-2006 on your xbox i will freak out because it thinks the date has not happened yet. If the problem continues you might have to start deleting or transfering saves 1 by 1 until you find the corrupted data. let me know if the problem continues I have the ability to diagnose it. Hope this is helpful

Most seem to be very solid, it just seems that some have bad luck. I've had to swap mine out a couple times, but everybody else I know is still on their first box.

It's a pain, but ms doubled their warranty to cover these issues.

I didnt know they did that!! So is it 2 years then? as I believe the warrenty is different for US & UK machines? I may be wrong......

I am on my first box still but its starting to hang saying unable to read disc after about 2hours of play.... and sometimes the noises that come from it can be a bit strange....:uhoh:

you shouldn't of turned it on from the console you should of started turning it on from the controller. i heard that makes it last longer or somthing. my friend just holds the xbox logo in the middle of the controller. hes never turned it on from the console.

Well, it finally fucked up totally. I'm now on my second console.
