Here is a "new" (been around for awhile now) method of recording your prank calls without having to use special electronic recording devices or connecting your phone to your modem, etc. Due to the rise of podcasting/(audio) blogging, blog sites have been offering new features for their users to post blogs easier. One of the most popular features was the ability to blog away from home and via a phone. In other words, they would call a certain number provided by the blogging services, which would then allow the person to talk into the phone and their audio blog would be recorded and uploaded to their blog automatically within a matter of minutes. Great feature and a number of sites have this now. The good thing about this, is the service is usually free and simply put, you can record your prank calls using it as well. The only requirement is that your phone service have the 3 way calling, usually this service costs extra, but under some plans it is included without charge. Anyway, all you have to do, is call up the blogging # first, have it start recording the call and then simply call up the mark and service will record the call and upload it when you are done pranking. Usually, you have to stay on the line and end the recording and ask to have it saved. So, don't hang up immediately after the mark has hung up, just wait and save the call.

Here are a list of 4 sites that offer this service, some are better than others.

AudioBlog (60 minutes allowed)...

Gabcast (60 minutes allowed)...

Blogging by Phone (?? minutes allowed)...

AudioBlogger (5 minutes allowed)...

I'm sure there are more services that do this, but these are the ones I found with a quick search on google. If you know of more, please post them in the thread. I'd recommend the first two sites, as they make it clear they allow 60 minutes of recording time. Also, although the feature works to record phone calls, only one site suggested its use for recording phone call conversations. I'm sure their stance would be less inviting if it was being used for prank calls, so I would suggest users download the pranks to their hard drives after the calls are posted on the blog site and then simply delete the call from the site. You can also use the service with Skype if you have SkypeOut minutes, but there are a number of recording tools for Skype that might make using phone blogging useless.

I believe the number they provide is U.S. based, but as long as you call the number, the service will work no matter where you are.
