I Need Help

I think I downloaded something onto my computer and now Im getting these popups at the bottom of desktop telling me I have to download spyware protection. I know that if I click on the stuff it tells me to download Ill probably get even more screwed. Can someone please tell me how to fix this and get rid of whatever I did, please??

If you don't have some kind of anti-virus software, get it. Also, use Firefox with the ad block extension.

OK so I downloaded ad-aware and I already have avg anti-virus, but I did the ad-aware thing and it didn't get rid of it. The icon is still at the bottom of the desktop. Right now Im doing a virus scan and I hope it gets this shit off. If this stuff that I do doesn't work what else can I do?

Control panel>Performance and Maintenance>System Restore>Follow instructions.

Thanks a lot Messiah, the system restore removed it and thanks Guns r Cool for the advice to download that stuff. Hopefully I don't get this problem again, but at least now I know what to do.

I also recommend getting a firewall of some sort. Zone Alarm is free for personal use and works pretty good.

Do you use Firefox? Get Firefox, Add Block plus extension & only download porn from trusted places. :raiseeyeb
