When you want to find a song but don't know the artist or name

There is nothing more irritating. I remember everytime i heard a song on the radio, the one i'd heard years ago but never did find out who sung it, i'd dash for a pen and paper and write down the lyrics so i could google it, or hope the DJ would mention the name of it.

But it's a bit harder when the song is a wacky techno tune with no lyrics. That's one i've got in my head right now. I know how it goes but have no idea of the artist or track name. It's doing my head in. Are there any websites that would, i dunno, accept audio recordings of yourself humming the tune and match it?

Haha, no way. But that would be cool, assuming you could hum the song on pitch and key, from memory. Musicians dream about doing stuff like that.

it doesn't cost if they don't match it, and its pretty damn cheap if they do. But if you don't hear it again, then i guess you are buggered :confused:

HAHA I remember looking for a damn song since like 6th grade (1999) It wasn't untill 2005 that I found it. I remember I would be in class and I would hum the tune (quite accuretly and in tune IMO) and everyone would go "Oh yeah, I know that song! I forget what its called but I know what you're talking about!" Turns out that it was "Pick Up The Pieces" by AWB.
