Man I just got the game to today and let me tell you its awesome. I really do think this is a shoe end for the best ps2 game period. While one might it just the same gameplay as the first there is just something about it that makes it seem fresh and new and definitely not repetitive. I mean the levels are kickass, the story is good, the boss battles are epic, and nothing beats pulling off a huge combo. I'm only 4 hours into the game in God mode, and I know the game will only get better. This is definitely a must buy.

it's been declared not going to next gen for this game, staying on the ps2 where im glad it is. Thank god they didn't make this for ps3 cause i would have killed myself. This lets everyone get ready for the third one to come out (assuming there will be a third one) on ps3, and takes full advantage of people who played the first on ps2 and didn't wanna go broke buying ps3 so soon.
That being said, im 7 hours deep in the game and the way u kill some of the bosses amazes me, the mini games to kill them are good and the way u kill them are better than the first game, ruthless, kickass, amazing
must buy if u own a ps2, if u don' thave the first get it for 20 bucks (greatest hits)
defintly worth the money

Wow that sucks. I'm also playing mine on my ps3, and I have yet to experience any problems. As a matter of fact, I played the game yesterday for 4 hours straight w/o any problems.

Oh no, it's longer than the first one. I just didn't expect it to end the way it does. I won't say anything else because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

just finished it and i rather like the ending, it leaves a lot of openings for the next game as to what u have to do. I might have to buy ps3 if the next one is next gen. god it would rock on ps3 haha

Yeah. I didn't think it was a bad ending. I just hate that I won't know what happens for another 3-4 years when or if the 3rd one comes out.

Got this game friday night, been playing all through the weekend, and dear god this is one of the best, if not -the- best game my ps2 has had the pleasure of reading in its cd tray. I am incredibly impressed with this game. Everything about it is absolutely perfect, from music, to the beautiful art direction, engaging and addicting battle system boasting more-than-satisfying bone crunching hits and organ spilling cuts, accompanied with awesome platforming. This game has you thinking on all levels.
Two things in particular amaze me, one being that many MANY parts of the game that would normally be mere cutscenes to sit back and watch, are actually playable and interactive to the point where your actions decide whether or not you live to see the end of the "cutscene". Good shit!
Another impressive aspect is how expansive, epic, and scenic GoW2 is. It's always making you think because you can interact with so much of the terrain, I always find myself checking out what's breakable, scalable, swingable, whateverable. Some of the grapple line scenes are very impressive, coupled with much eye-popping and highly inspired scenery.
Personal favorite aspect of the battle system: the perfect parry function. It's in DMC3 (royal guard), it's in Street Fighter 3, it's addictive and adds a whole new level of depth and strategy to the battle system, and in the harder modes it's what saves your ass from certain seemingly-inevitable death as it influences you to memorize the actions of your opponents, and wields you HIGH rewards if you can pull it off successfully.
My personal overall score of this game is a 10, abso-fucking-lutely perfect. They did everything right in this game, and then some. This is the kinda game that makes you completely forget the PS3 even exists (until they make GoW3 for PS3). Graphics, sound, gameplay, object interaction, multitudes of enemies on the screen, this is the ps2 at its best.

use posiedons rage if ur ever about to get slammed it negates damage
after u make him fall back he'll do a unblockable attack so jump on the little lifter thing that lets u swing and then jump back to where u were
if he swings with his left dodge to the right if he swings with his right dodge to the left
his right hand is a faster attack than his left so be carefull about that
