"There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us."
Heard a few things about The Messengers from friends over there (I'm in sunny ol' London town!)... all positive. Apparently it's more psychological than slasher horror, which is fine by me. Getting a bit tired of supposed gory movies. Maybe I'm getting old(!), but I'm liking movies that make me think rather than being purely visual.
It's not out here til April, but hoping to catch a preview before I go away next weekend and will post my review, but was wondering what you made of it?

I saw a preview screening of The Messengers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs4CtFg0C70) last night (thanks to my gf for getting the tix online!), expecting another cheesy horror movie, but have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I thought I´d make a comment or two on the movie, since I opened a thread on it a while ago (even if no-one had any details on it!).
Not particularly original, but still a well shot film that combines aspects of various classics (including Hitchcock´s The Birds, albeit only in one scene!) to good effect. The storyline is solid, performances decent and it certainly makes a change from the awful slasher (regarded as so-called horror) movies that we've been served up of late.
It´s finally being released here in the UK on April 6th. Highly recommended for those of you who haven´t seen it (yet).
7/10 (my gf rated it an 8/10)

Ah well... no comments about The Messengers. I'm off out to see a movie again tonight, but not decided what to see yet.
Hope everyone's having a fantastic Easter. Enjoy the rest of the holidays.
I'm off for a long drive in the springtime sun! Mini heatwave in London :)

Although Kristen Stewart was good in the role, I just read that Scout Taylor-Compton (http://www.scouttaylorcompton.com/default.asp?s=249) had auditioned for it (she'll be in the remake of Halloween... bad move!).
I remember ST-C from a few episodes of Charmed a couple of years back and think she might have made a better Jess in The Messengers.
Looking on IMDB, there were 2 Bens! Bit odd... how old is the boy in it for them to need two actors playing him?
And for a friend of mine who visits eBaum daily... you know who you are(!)... the movie's out in Brazil on 20th April, so only 2 weeks after being released here (in the UK)... tchau linda ;)

Four posts in this thread about the movie.
All of them are from the thread starter.
How much more proof do you need that not only did no one want to see this movie, but that everyone who did see it agrees that it is terrible, and you have incredibly bad taste for enjoying it.

Surprisingly enough though... having looked through your DVD collection, we have very similar tastes. So let's say we have an artistic difference this time!
