I want peoples opinions on the PS3 vs Xbox360. I am going to get one of those & the Wii, i think the wii is a completely different type of system more a fun system instead of a graphic/regular type system.

so thats why I need your opinion, here is some of my background, I have had PS1-PS2, never owned an xbox rarely played on it (hated the controllers)

for any playstation gamers that jumped ship to xbox how long did it take to get comfortable with the controllers?

also i heard the ps3 is a total rip? I thought it had the most graphic power out of the 3 next gen systems? so is the Ps3 really that bad?

I also heard that the xbox overheats a lot and the light flashes red? then you gotta send it to microsoft, anyone know the deal with that?

and if this makes a difference, I have an HDTV, i heard people say an HDTV makes a big difference.

so yeah, thanks to anyone who helps.

HDTV makes a big difference, even for the Wii.

Just get whatever console has the games that interest you the most. Duh!

And consider the possibilities of whether it'll get ported to 360 or not lol.

Get PS3 first then get 360 when it's cheaper. Or the other way round. Problem solved.

Just play the systems and see which one you like more ffs.

People who think Sony have completely fucked up are just ignorant to half the facts. It would be hard for a company that made 2 of the most successful systems to make a complete dud, so ignore all the bad media since its complete bullshit.

For example After this Sony Press Release Link (http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/multimedia/display/20070222235341.html), stating that the Playstation 3's backwards compatibility would be slightly limited, the whole interent blew a shit storm around the Playstation 3. But then it turns out there is still going to be over 1000 titles that are compatible.

You buy Consoles for Games. I'll gladly PM you 360 Vs. PS3 Specs and a 360 2007 Games List if you's like. Still, go buy the Console with the Games you want because that's how you'll have the most fun.

HDTV's are amazing for next-gen games.

We don't do opinions here. We do facts only. Now it's up to you to figure out whose facts fit your facts. Seriously ask anyone and they'll tell you "they KNOW the facts.":D

I jumped ship from the ps1/ps2 to the 360. I did it for a few reasons, I'll list them now. Availability (at the time you couldn't find PS3's and it was so early in the first run), Price, Number of games, Games (GOW, Winning Eleven, etc.), stage of development (figured it has been out longer/worked out more bugs), also the fact that the exclusives are few and far between (a lot of the games I really like come out for both and none of the exclusives swayed me that much)

But I agree with everyone else here, the systems are very, very similar. So check out the games and see which one's you want. Also, if you are into watching hi-def movies and playing games online, those aspects may help you decide as well.

thanks everyone, right now I am leaning towards getting the xbox. PS3 should be a lot cheaper by the end of the year and GTA will be on the 360. I'll just have to get used to the controllers

When you played the Xbox, did you use the original controller (huge) or the type s controller?

Hrm, doesn't seem like you're much of a gamer.

If you're intent on getting the PS3 or 360, wait for a price drop. The systems will be more efficient, and there will be a bigger list of games to choose from.

The Xbox 360 Zephyr has now been confirmed for April this year. It's going to be called Xbox 360: Elite, the first few 100k batches will be black at an increased price. They'll be snapped up like a bitch because of both a different colour and the 65 nm chipset/HDMI/120GB HDD/etc.

Once they're sold, it'll revert back to white and include the new hardware/software additions and will be £280/$400 and the Premium (the better pack right now) will be £200/$300...i.e. Price Drop.

The PS3 won't have a price drop for a long time.

If you like playing many games and take pride in your online identity, get a 360.

If you have a High-Def TV and like watching movies, modding, and MMORPG's, then get a PS3.

The 360 has a lot of things going for it, like a large list of games, a great online service, and a cool arcade. Media Center connectivity is also cool. Its controller fits well into your hand and has those hit games that people talk about.

The PS3 has the new Blu-Ray drive. It also allows the installation of Linux, a web browser, PSP connectivity and you can put your saves on any storage device. It has some 360 exclusives coming to it, (and vise versa recently) and Playstation HOME. The PS3, as of right now, is more potential that developers need to put to good use. So a PS3 is more of a future investment.
