Having nothing better to do than go to the movies, and having already seen 300... we looked to Dead Silence. I actually gave it a snowflake's chance in hell at being something of a scary movie, though deep down I really wasn't expecting much to begin with. Slow and cliche beginning, bad acting, dumb plot, and a few shockers.
And in knowing what I was in for, I wasn't at all disappointed in watching these things (cliche beginning, bad acting, dumb plot, and shockers), but it was the degree in which I got them I question. I was totally expecting a shit movie, but what I got... was... well, nothing short of a fucking comdey. Its seriously that cheesy.
I know a bad movie when I see one, but Dead Silence was beyond bad. It was in the realm of "Scary Movie" halarious. So much so that the audience frequently erupted into a muffled frenzy of laughter during the movie's "scary" scenes. Every time the camera came in on a close up whilst an actor was supposed to exclaim some serious cliche one liner, I nearly fell into a pit of embarassment for that actor. Half the dialouge in the movie was just embarassing, so much so you wonder how the fuck this isn't a TV movie.
Dead Silence was a crack up at best, not at all scary. Not one ounce of it. And when you get up at the end don't be shocked if your ass hurts, because they're raping theaters everywhere with this bullshit. Seriously... just save your $10.00, and rent it. You want a good comedy and cheesy effect with a lackluster plot below any standards you could possibly set for it, Dead Silence is your movie. Otherwise... rent it, or rewatch 300.
