so, i just got home from the movie. i hadn't seen much of anything about it prior to tonight other than the "teenage mutant ninja frogs" trailer. surprisingly enough i enjoyed the movie a lot. at first i was a little shakey on the story but as it went on it pulled me in.

the animation was very clean and while i was not originally a fan of the new look of the turtles their design grew on me and as the movie went on.

my only problems with the movie was that it was not as humourous as the first 2. while i dont have anything against the more serious tone of the movie it still needed it's little winking moments and witty lines rather than using a character as comic relief. which now leads me to my next problem. they made michaelangelo, well, stupid. he never was stupid just more of a goofball. i usually hate every "stupid" character in movies, shows, etc and sadly it made me really hate scenes with michaelangelo. lastly, donatello (and michaelangelo) were very underused.

regardless of these minor points i still enjoyed the movie and i cant wait to see it again.

I saw two different previews for this movie on TV. On G4 they made the movie seem bad ass with ninjas a karate and pizza awesomeness. On ABC during prime time it looked like some cheesy kids movie that's fun for the whole family, complete with Michaelangelo's stupid comments and comic mishaps and slip ups.

I'd rather watch a classic video and wait for this DVD.

Is michaelangelo the one on the commercial that goes "LOOKS LIKE YOUR MOM DUDE!!"

That line is pretty much why I dont wanna see the movie and I wanna know who is responsible for this madness.

well, honestly TMNT surprised me by being enjoyable. so much so that i want to see it again. thankfully (as i mentioned) michaelangelo isn't in the movie much and he actually does have a couple of funny moments.

i seen it tonight too. i went in with very low expectations, but it came out of it pretty pleased. good movie, nothing extrodinary by no means.. worth watching, it was entertaining.

but the thing i laughed most at was this little boy sitting behind me had a coughing attack and had the most mutantish cough i've ever heard.

alright movie though, i agree that i didn't like the design of the turtles that much.. there was something missing.

I'm a big fan too, but I'm so stuck in the first Nina Turtles movie...it might ruin it for me.

Nothing beats the 90's version.

I thought the animation was fucking clean. Some shots almost looked real. And Raph's suit was badass.

What happened to April being a reporter? Did they explain that and I missed it (I was drinking after all)?

The original April wasn't a reporter. They made that for the first movies.
