There's a BBC release on the MVGroup forum. You can download it there too.
I've watched the first season, and I'm on the jungle episode now.
This nature series is by far the most professional and best. Never has anything with Attenborough disappointed. Along with the Life series, Planet Earth has to be his and BBC's (nature programs) crowning achievement.

I'm really looking forward to it. I'm a nature buff. I was hoping Attenborough would be narrating.
I also really loved Blue Planet. Did you watch that as well?

I haven't finished watching all of Blue Planet. Got sidetracked with some other documentaries.
Did you watch the first season? That's been out for a long time now. Once again, if you want to watch it, check out MVGroup. They have the first 5 episodes and some of the new ones.

The first season of Planet Earth? No, I haven't seen it. Downloading isn't an option because I'm using a Stone-Age laptop with no sound. But it's ok. I'll see it tomorrow!

I've been watching it in HD on my computer. Granted it's just an old CRT monitor with no special HD capabilities, but it looks really damn good anyway. I'm sure it'll be astounding for those of you who have HD displays.

Hell yeah I'm planning on watching this. I've been planning on seeing this since the first ad I saw.
Discovery Channel is my favorite channel. It not only has good ass shows (Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch) but good also educational shows too (That top 10 extreme animal thing, and I forgot some others). Animal face-off was cool too. Was pretty friggin neat. Then they had that Discovery Atlas where they pretty much showed the history and culture of a country. I only saw the China one.
I forgot what Blue Planet was. I think I was planning on seeing that, but had no idea when it came on.
Yeah, watching all this Discovery Channel with animals and crap made my brother think I wanted to be a Vet -.-
But I can't wait for Deadliest Catch. I love that show.

I wish there was a theater that played it. That would be kickass.
Or I'll buy a projector.

Blue Planet is about the various parts of the oceans. Very impressive. As always with Attenborough, they got some footage of animals that were almost never seen and never filmed before.
edit: You guys should catch the diaries episode. It's kind of cool seeing how they film all of this.

Wait a FIRST SEASON? Why are they treating the series like its brand new then....(past so and so years spent making it)...you must be confused. It just aired in the UK long before it will in the US.

As far as I know, season 1 were these episodes:
From Pole to Pole
Mountains
Fresh Water
Caves
Deserts
It seemed like it to me. So it hasn't even begun in the US? I guess I am confused.
I went by the BBC releases on MVGroup, so I might be off of it.
edit: From Wikipedia:
"In the USA, the series is to broadcast on the Discovery Channel, starting 25 March 2007. The episodes will be shown in a different order to the original. The U.S. version will also feature a new narrator: award-winning actress and conservationist Sigourney Weaver. However, the DVD release that follows transmission of the series in America will be the original UK version, with narration by David Attenborough."
I get it now.
I like Sigourney Weaver and all, but they shouldn't be messing with Attenborough. Why change the series at all? It's perfect the way it is.

I just caught the first episode. It was pretty cool, they spent too much time tooting their own horn though.

It was awesome. I saw a wolf eat a baby deer-thing. And monkeys walking through a swamp like they were WW2 soldiers with Down's Syndrome.

Yeah I went to show a buddy the previews via On Demand and I noticed all but 3 of them had disappeared...Anyway I went to show him the preview for Jungle and it turned out to be the full episode which was awesome. I noticed the change in narrators and although I didn't realize it was Sigourney Weaver I too preferred the guy from the previews they had (whom I now know is Attenborough). It makes me wonder....was narration all they changed? the full episode just had a different vibe then the 5-10 minute previews which featured Attenborough.
Except for the narration, they aren't changed. But the order in which they're played is different from what the BBC released.
I also found out that the US DVD set will only have Weaver narrating. They updated the wikipedia article a couple hours ago. Fortunately for me, I have a DVD player that can play any format, so I'll be ordering the UK release (I can't burn the HD-DVD files).

I was watching it up until about 10:15 when a bunch of fucking people came to my goddam house and got all up in everything.
I was really amazed with the snow leopard bit. I was hoping they would have something on them in there. They're such beautiful animals.
The panda scene was awesome, too. The way the mother panda cared for her baby was incredible. It really makes you see animals in a more emotional light.
