Ok, Here is a problem I've been getting recently on my computer.
I have two CD drives, a DVD and DVD/RW. Up until a few weeks ago, they stoped being recognized and were just labled as cd-rom drive in My Computer, while in the device manager, they are listed as their correct names.
One is a master, other is slave and their share the same cable.
When reinstalling them, as windows loads my desktop, it finds them, with their correct names, but immeadiatley changes them to cd-rom drive.
I can't autoplay or run anything from either drive.
what ive tried:
1) Uninstalling and reinstalling both drives
2) Replacing the ribbon cable
3) putting in a 3rd new drive
4) downloading more ram
The new cables worked for a while, but now I am getting the same problem.
Im beggining to wonder if the slots on the board are the problem.
What u think?
