Shouldn't Saddam be tried in the Hague?
Yes, he's a bastard who deserves all he gets (including execution) but being tried by the Iraqis (many of whom have an axe to grind) is hardly a fair and impartial method.

There has never been a fair and impartial trail over in Iraq during his riegn of terror.
Should they start having fair and impartial trails now that he is out of power? Yes, but not until his trail is over.
He should recieve the same trail and execution as everyone else did while he was in power. Then after his execution they should set up the proper justice system.

Fair or not, we have to respect the Iraqi people as their own nation, and give them the chance to operate as they see fit. The U.S. won't listen to any other country telling it how to run a trial...why should we have the right to tell Iraq how to do have one? Or any other country telling Iraq what's what, for that matter?
I do not think the U.S., or any other country should be allowed to police the world...we all have too many problems locally within our own borders we should contend with, and unless our help is requested, we should leave them be.

I think it's only proper that he's tried by the Iraqis. Although I would hope that the US will still be responsible for his actual detention and security. I don't think the Iraqi security forces are up for it. It's not out of the realm of possibility that insurgents and Saddam loyalists could attempt some sort of breakout/rescue of Saddam if the US weren't holding him. There's no telling how deeply they've infiltrated the new Iraqi security force.

I think the Iraqis should be able to do whatever the fuck they want with him. If someone did that in the U.S., I sure as hell would want them tried here, not in some fuckin panty waste European court.
Face it, THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS SADAM IS GUILTY. If he gets tried in the Hague, he won't get the death penalty, and that is bullshit. Give him to the Iraqis, and let them pull him apart with two trucks like the guy in the video. After that, we'll give them Viceroy as well, and let them do the same. :)

If the Iraqis handle it, there will be no trial in the normal sense. They'll drag him out of court and put two in his head.
Talk about creating a martyr.

How do you know this? Do you have a crystal fucking ball? They will give him a trial, there is a hundred percent chance that he is guilty, they are free to punish him the way they see fit. Its their country, let them fucking run it.
Also, I would think that much of Sadams respect was lost when he was found hiding in a fucking hole, giving up to American soldiers, and then having his ugly mug plastered all over T.V. I think his sons are martyrs more than he is (or will be). At least they died in a hail of gunfire.

I concur. Viceroy, you need to shut your mouth sometimes. You think those Iraqis are beasts that are crazed. Iraqis are people too, its only those extremists and terrorists who get on the news.

And if it does make him a martyr, who really cares?
Dead is dead and he needs to be dead.

Considering one of the people who is calling for Saddam to be handed over was a previous assassination target of Saddam's, I find it hard to believe they will give him a fair trial.
I think the way Saddam is treated over the next few weeks and months will give us a good microcosm of how Iraq will be run from now on.

It's thier trial system, not ours. He will still get what is coming to him.....death.

Hey Viceroy, I don't know where you have been the last decade or so, but Sadam is KNOWN to be a mass muderer and has commited several war crimes. I DON'T THINK HE WOULD GET A FAIR TRIAL ANYWHERE, EVEN THE HAUGE. Why won't he get a fair trial? Because everyone knows he did this shit. Does he deserve a fair trial? FUCK NO.
Also, I don't agree with your assesment that the Sadam trial will be the measuring stick of Iraqi justice. Of course they are going to be more strict, especially in terms of capital punishment, because of the number of SERIOUS criminals they have over there. That is the way things are going to be until order can be resolved. It will be stiff justice, but at least you won't see people getting pulled apart by trucks anymore.
