2.0 liter @ 220 bhp (there exists a tuned version too, i think 350 or 380 bhp...something like that)
weight 456 kg

it sucks your shit out of your ass!

honestly the most overall fun car i have had is my lincoln town car, just because you can chill in it with like 5 other people and everyone has room. for driving i would say a fast shitty car that you can beat the shit out of is the most fun.

Most fun car I've been in without blowing my own trumpet is my G40, just because it looks invisible to Police and boy-racers, it's sleeper by definition unlike some of the obvious mint looking sleepers cropping up that you always suspect. It's dented and scuffed so I don't care where I leave it, it sounds like one of Hitlers speeches at 2x speed in reverse, and has oodles of torque steer. 70mph feels like 160mph in a modern car. It's just plain unrefined bonkers.

There are much faster cars, and I've been in much faster cars but nothing gets me grinning like it.

I like my current car. I love going 80 mph on exit ramps and killing ricers.

My truck is proving to be quite fun. But the Camaro has been the funnest car I have ever driven. Ever driven a RWD car with bald tires at 60mph down an interstate during the middle of a blizzard and ice storm? Its not boring, let me tell you that.

An older Beetle with a 350, supercharged, with a blower, roll cage, 1 seat, fiberglass body, and the car only weighing about 1,000 pounds. Scary as shit, but super fun to drive.

I would probably have to go with the Atom vote, particularly with the eaton'd (I think) version, it's bound to be a blast on all fronts -> acceleration, cornering, dragging-your-ass ride position, intense sound.

If racing sims are anything to go by, a V6 Lotus 7 with fully independent double-wishbone front and rear suspension including ARBs.

i bet i could keep up ;)
i do the same though.. i havea big trucks try to race me down.. and then we get on those 30km/h VERY sharped curly exit ramps.. i can take at my max so far is 70km/h without squeeling the tires. im sure i could go 80 no problem.but. very nervous to try that... needless to say.. that by the time the straight comes for the highway.. those trucks are NOwhere to be found..

Since I have not driven every car ever I can't really give an opinion. Those of you voting for the atom, how did it feel in the turns?

Anyways, the most fun vehicle I had was probably my suburban. It wasn't fast, but it was powerful, and it had a lot of weight to throw around.

Nothing better than a nice sunny day, drifting half a block with 6 of your friends clutching the seats, traffic at a dead stop while they look on in both fear and surprise, and a big ol' smile on my face. :)

Ah, the memories.

haha I almost lost it on the back roads one time because it almost understeered into a guardrail. The bridgestone tires that came with the car are utter garbage, I can't wait till I get rid of em.

If you do get a bus get a Vanagon or Eurovan. 914's, splits, and bays are off-limits for beatings. They're actually desireable cars. Most fun car I've ridden in was my brother's '70 Beetle. It put a grin on my face, and the only working gauge at the time was the fuel gauge. The stock news-paper seats were extremely comfy too.

Realistically, an MKI VW GTI. Its cheap, reliable, and fun.

Unrealistically, an Ariel Atom.

Yeah, get a Vanagon or a Beetle, seriously. Easy as hell you work on, sometimes you can get them cheap. Engines are well aviable. I picked you a 914 engine for my Ghia 2 weeks ago for under $500.:D Easy install, almost direct swap, but I need to get the engine strap because of the extra torque it has.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYhiJeRPgdw In this, skip/wait till around 2:24, watch the Lancia fly over the jump in slow-mo then just after that watch the Audi fly around the corner scrabbling for grip like a dog on a kitchen floor, then royally fuck off to the left. Same thing at around 2:51, just brute fuckingawesomeness.
That's got to be the most fun car to drive for me.
Whole video worth a watch if you love the euro-muscle era that was Group-B.

That was amazing but you've got to wonder, who has the bigger balls? Racer or spectator?

There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity, and I think one of the above mentioned groups are of the latter classification. I mean, strapping yourself into a 600bhp 1000kg primitive turbo car and driving through the woods like you're being chased by Satan himself is just plain stupid.

ThaiTanium22

The whole idea behind Group B is pure insanity. With your only restrictions being engine size, wheel size, and a minimum weight, build as fast of a car you can and run it through an unpaved course with the only thing stopping you from going off course is a giant wall of spectators.

OMG that jump at 4:41...God have mercy on their souls...that is insanity to the highest degree. I concur, that 2:51 Audi clip was awesome! My favorite though had to be the Lancia 037's, they looked like they kicked major ass!

Thanks for that vid it was indeed awesome. The Lancia jump at 4:41 is fucking amazing it must cleared about 50 odd feet! It pleased me to see the 6R4 in there because it's probably my favourite group B car. Group B was as already said bordering on stupidity, the margin of error is so small infact there is no margin of error if you fuck it up you have yourself a stay in hospital or as some found out, a stay in a coffin.

Fuck the FIA god damn spoilsports! They should not have banned the cars they should have enforced rules to keep the spectators away from the track, it wasn't the cars faults, fucking idiots.

Thanks again EeekiE you made my day!

As for the most fun car, not that I’ve been in one but I’d say the Atom or some other light rocket, perhaps the Ultima or the R500 Caterham until the Caparo comes along of course. The most fun cars I’ve had the pleasure to be in it would probably be a Peugeot 205 1.6 GTI, you heard me, a 1600cc 4 cyl. That thing stuck like shit on the twisties i swear it's impossible to make it loose grip, it was like a go-kart. I liked it so much i'm thinking about buying one. Turbo Technics do a turbo kit for one and i can only imagine how much fun that would be. There are some original 205 turbo 16's out there but i've never seen one for sale infact i've never even seen one at all. Topgear vid of stock 205 GTI with Group B 205 at the end. For me the Sierra 4x4 Sapphire Cosworth would come in a close second though as we found out; just because they were used in rally it doesn't mean you should attempt to jump bridges in one! They tend to fall apart when the front end hits the road at 70+ mph. That cars life ended when a taxi pulled out in front of it while it was doing 110 and pretty amazingly no one was hurt.

that rally clip was awesome! i remember reading an interview with Ari Vatanen, or was it Markku Alén some time ago. They said that the fastest driver wasn't the best one, but rather the one who would have the balls to keep the pedal to the metal the longest. I think he also said that the last versions of the Group B cars couldn't be driven full throttle almost at all, since there was just so much power!!

but yeah... most fun car i've driven? Porsche 944! So balanced, so much fun on a track!
