Has anyone else heard the new? The U.S. Army decided to change to the new digitally made camouflage. It is supposed to break up the outline and camoflage a soldier 30% better than the old camoflage. They are supposed to complete this by 2007.

I was just wondering what everyone else tinks about this, i think its cool because the Army usually doesn't change this fast.

Eventually we will probably have fiber optic armor...

But that won't come until the far future because right now it doesn't work that well and it is etremely expensive, and fragile.

I heard about this on Mail Call (awesome show btw). Seems like a good idea, whatever keeps our troops safe.

what about that camo japanese jacket? it mimics the stuff on the opposite side, very intensely awesome.

I think the new uniforms look ugly, but if they are more effective, well...

It doesnt look like the new uniforms will camoflage the soldiers much better.

Preston, the japanese jacket is basically the same material as a movie theater screen, and it uses a camera on their back, but it requires a projector that is not part of the jacket to project the image on to the jacket.

The US marines have had this type of camo for some years now.

But I'm still upset about changing the hat style of all branches to red berrets! The marines looked so awesome in those big cornered hats. Now they look like abunch of sissy europeans!!!!!!!

I think the new stuff looks cool, and yeah it does suck that everyone gets a red beret now. Pretty gay. But the new camo uses a system of digitally created pattern of little squares that is supposed to break up the outline better than the old stuff, all i know.

Pretty soon we'll have suits like Preditor has and you won't even be able to detect our troops. They're already working on a gun that has no moving parts. It runs off battery power and some shizit like that.

Why would that help?

Don't know if you mean the gun or the uniform.

The lack of moving parts in a gun would mean a lack of jams/misfires. If you've seen pictures of soldiers with condoms on the barrels of their rifles, that's to keep debris out.

thanks for the information. i was wondering how they did that. Still though, that is the koolest thing. Does it have rear projection or frontal projection. because they were working on a shirt that has millions of colored beads that copy the opposite thing and used magnets to change it. i dunno alot about it, but it looked kool.

Where is that video of the japanese dood's thing.

It records from the back and projects on the front.
