so, my racing team for the 24 hours of lemons bought an 82 chevy citation 5 door with the 2.8l v6. :p
this is gonna be fun. IT actually runs quite well, it has 72000 miles, and starts up every time. Its not really speedy, but we are gonna do some stuff to it. its gonna be fun to destroy during the race. anybody know where i can find parts for this beast? :dunce:

You can turn that 2.8L V6 into a 3.4L V6.....Do some research on how to do it.

so i need some help with this car...it runs very rich, and i need to adjust the air/fuel ratio. the problem is...this is the first car with a carb i have ever worked on...does anyone know where the screw is on this car for the air/fuel ratio?

its a 2 barrel carb.

Find the serial number and search for it on Google.

Much like a fair amount of factory carbs, your mixture screw is sealed to preserve factory settings. To adjust the a/f mixture you'll need to cut off (with a hacksaw, or a dremel..watch for sparks) the plug covering the screw. Your best bet is getting a book for your car so you know exactly what you're doing. Tuning the carb is easy. Use a vacuum gauge, or if you know someone who's good with carbs, they should be able to do it by sight and sound. Vac gauges are a little more accurate usually though.
