i was just watching the 1985 race at talladaga on nascar classiscs and i was wondering who everyone thinks is the greatest NASCAR racer of all time. with all respect to the late great Earndhart i would have to say the greatest racer is the king himself Richard Petty and the number 43 car

OK ummmmmmm NO OFFENSE COVEN I NEVER LIKED nascar I ALWAYS THOUGHT it was kind of rediculous that they drive in a circle and only 3 out of i dont know howmany tracks have left hand turns
i personally like formula one and WRC (world rally chamionship)
i also enjoy super bike races

all ovals are left, it's when you go right that your fucked:D but having raced oval for many years myself i can personally say there is a lot more to it than that. you'd be suprised about the kind of witts you need on the track just to keep your car out of the wall. although i do love F1 too, i don't like how if they just touch wheels it's a crash. to borrow a line from a fav movie of mine
"He didn't bump yeah, he didn't nudge yeah, he rubbed yeah. and rubbin son is racing"

Damn I love the races that didn't have restrictor plates. Then it was a free for all. Of course the downside is the crashes. Holy shit those sucked a lot worse than they do now. But to answer the question:
Best Nascar Legend: Tied between Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
Worst Racer EVER: Jeff Gordon (stupid rainbow loving flamer)
