the elites DO come with the transfer cable, the guys i called at EB and gamestop, both said specifically that the elite will come with the cable in-box, that's why you get the coupon to increase the value of a used 360, so after you transfered data, then you take it in for trade.

YES it will come with the cable.

And EB/Gamestop are reputible sources of information.

They are wrong so much of the time that I have trouble believing anything they say is true.

Example: This past weekend a friend of mine got a used copy of Monster Hunter for PSP. When he brought it home to play, the case was practically falling apart and the disc would not read. I let him use my copy to see if it works, and it does.

We bring it back to Gamestop, and we tell the guy that the case is the problem. He says "No, the PSP case can never have anytihg to do with a Disc not reading" Then he picks up the game, notices the case falling apart and immediatley changes his story.

When a Microsoft source says the cable comes with the Elite, then I will believe it.

^ exactly. Official Microsoft sources have specifically said on multiple occasions that the Elite will not ship with a transfer cable. Until they say otherwise, I'll believe them over the stoner working at EB fucking games.

Rumor I've heard is that they are just gonna sell the cable for like 30 bucks or something.

QFT. The stand alone price of this harddrive is fucking laughable and should be illegal. Like, literally illegal. It's gotta be an anti-trust issue or at least a price gouging issue. Make it to where the X-Box (so closely modeled after the PC) cannot read any normal PC external HD and then charge 180 bucks for a fucking 120 GB HD, if that's not price gouging I don't know what is.

I wanted to ask this for a while, and finally have a place to now. When I bought my 360, it said it came with a 20GB HDD. Well, the dashboard said I only had about 10GB. I deleted the shitty demos, videos, and all the bloat crap that it came with, but it says I still only have about 12-13GB.

Now, I know a 20GB HDD formatted can hold something like 18-19GB of shit. Where's this invisible 6-7GB of storage that I'm missing here?

Yeah, this rumor is so odd. Microsoft states that there will be no cable, the box says there is no cable, but the rumors and the photo says it's included...weird. Perhaps they just included it in the one they sent to GamePro.
