We were supposed to be playing this game around Christmas 2006 but now its been pushed back to almost Christmas 2007.
GS: Finally, when can we expect Episode Two to ship, and will it ship on all three platforms simultaneously?
EJ: We're looking to ship in the fall of this year, on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 simultaneously.
GS: Thank you. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halflife2episode2/news.html?sid=6169501&om_act=convert&om_clk=multimodule&tag=multimodule;picks;title;1

This was confirmed on SteamPowered forums in like January...huge deal back then. How is this new?
It is an incredibly long time to wait for such a short episode, so many of us have eagerly waited for a year to play EP2 only for it to remain the same length but be pushed almost another year is just too much.
Two years wait for only a 1/8th of what HL2 was, and Hl2 took like 4 years? 5?

I'd rather wait a long time and have an absolutely flawless game than a rushed piece of shit.

I stopped saying that back when it was a Spring 07 release. At this point, it's just fucking ridiculous. They might as well just call it Half-life 3; it's hardly episodic anymore.

Although Ive been waiting for this to come out since I beat the second one, there have been other games that have made me completely forget about it. I can wait.

That was what was initially said by an official right? I remember reading on SteamPowered about that.

Steam so far has actually been one of the best online programs i have used.
Whether its keeping me up to date on all the patches or allowing me to play with my friends on multiple pc's round their house.
People dont like it because it actual works as an anti-piracy measure.

Only thing with Steam is you can't sell the game after you have played it, im sure its gonna be cool though as EP1 was.

Arn't you not aloud to sell PC games? I thought it was illegal to sell them back to stores / return them? (Unless you mean ebay or something)
Yeah, it's illegal that's why most game shops stock second hand, traded in and bought second hand games.
Can't believe it's been pushed back again, takes the piss a little.

You guys fail to realize that they aren't just making Episode 2, they are also making TF2 and Portal. They are just making sure they don't pull an "EA" and release something so buggy it can't be played.

So people that could care less about TF2 and Portal have to wait over a year longer for the same game?
I can't believe you are acting as if two years for an episode is acceptable, I read on my own and the idea was roughly every six months there was going to be a new episode. They have the man power to create a great, practically bug free game in 6 months.

Those motherfuckers. This better be better than HL, HL2, and HL2 ep 1 combined! I mean, I want this to be as long as half life 2. ep1 was far too short.

Were talking about Valve here, when have they ever created a bug free game in 6 months?
Any promise made by Valve should not be taken seriously. When was the last time Valve released a highly anticipated game on the original date it was supposed to be released on?
I have a ton of respect for the guys over at Valve, but I have come to realize that deadlines are not their strong point at all. If anything, they should just give you an idea to when it could be launched.

I'm really ok with developers pushing their games back - I'd rather have it later and better than right now.
However, the whole point of the "episodic content" deal was that they were going to release them fast and hard, and obviously, they're not. Valve may as well have made us wait another year and created a new game. Instead, we're waiting all this time for something most people are going to beat in a couple of hours.
