its not a popup, its intregrated into the page as some kind of script or something. I mean it it POPS UP but its not a popup as in a new window opening. Its loud, its annoying, i dont know what slim jim was thinking

I though that nothing could be more annoying than the ad in which a smiley is waving his arm and saying "heeeeelooooooooo." The Slim Jim ad has surpassed it, though. It needs to go.

Yeah sometimes I'll leave my volume up after enjoying some music, only to come back later to browse whats new on the homepage and get scared out of my mind by that damn ad. Seriously, its nothing I'm expecting, ever, until - BAM! HUGE CRASH SOUND! And I'm jumping 30ft in the air.

Its annoying as crap and really does nothing for me other than hate that company for making such an absurd ad. If you're on IE, you'll notice that it actually kind of operates like a screamer. Because it doesn't immediately load. Rather it kind of... purposely delays... and as you're reading the content of the website, it finally jumps out and scares the ever living daylights out of you.

Its not cool. It distorts the site and all of its information, offers nothing informative, produces unusually loud sound effects which disturbs the users, and simply renders the homepage (and whatever page its "scripted" into) completely useless as people aren't prone to revisiting a page with something as unexpected and loud as that.

It's the entire reason I finally just linked to the forum and forgot about the homepage all together. However, I really do enjoy reading all the daily media you people go through the trouble of researching and producing, that ad is just too disturbing for anyone to enjoy and appreciate your efforts. No offense, just imo.
