I loved linkin park back in my high school days... It was rap fused with rock, fused with scratch, 3d, anime influences... Basically everything that was cool. Used to be a band that never took itself seriously, just pumped out cool sounding tunes and kickass videos... like the mash up with jay z.

Now, I don't even know WTF to think about it. They look really arrogant and pretentious, like a clone of U2 with the oh so contrived social message (U2 could pull it off, Audioslave/Rage could pull it off, but that's because they have HISTORY). And the no rap just ruined it all for me. Fuck linkin park.

as for Linkin Park i know the older stuff was better, but its good when bands change for a lil bit,who knows what the rest of the album will sound like though? even if this is a softer album then the others, there next album could be the heaviest and best of the lot,but you never know.I personally just think its kool with the cyphers..they have me excited :)

Well what do you think about this theory as the album title....
we know is minutes to midnight, but i looked around and found really interesting information about it relating to a clock,known as the doomsday clock.
This clock is a scientific theory that when the clock strikes 12midnight, we will be in the middle of WW3. pretty scary actually, but we are only 3 minutes away from midnight..what do you think? i looked at the LP video

I listened to their newer demos on the minute to midnight blog and i think the sound is quite good. I really like the new strat sound compare to the prs muddy and merky sound. Sounds more sophisticated

the song QWERTY also known as "Behind Your Lies" is not in the new album. it was released on their latest "LP Underground" cd that they send to members of the LPU. i like those LPU cds cuz they contain versions of the songs not found anywhere for sale. you can find them online. got them all. i will say one thing about LP. they at least have a cool fan club.

I think it's well cool, can't wait for the album which is out on the 14th of May worldwide, not USA tho, haha! they get it on the 15th and that link as nothing to do with linkin park, that's just a another band called minutes to midnight

Heard that you can listen to the whole album then and maybe that can help you decide if its worth getting or not..

so i just bought minutes to midnight and ive listened to it a bit. its different from their normal sound, thats for sure. the tracks i like so far are bleed it out, hands held high, and no more sorrow. thats as far as ive gotten. lyrics are kinda cliche, o well.

lol at all the Linkin Park haters in this forum. Amazingly (zomg) I am a fan of Linkin Park, and I think their latest album is one of the best CD's i've bought recently (picked it up this morning). While it isn't a Metora, and nowhere near a Hybrid Theory, it definately has some great songs with catchy lyrics and some really good hooks. My favorites:

1) Bleed it Out
2) Given Up
3) Leave out all the Rest
4) In Pieces
5) What I've Done
6) The Little Things Give You Away

I downloaded the CD yesterday on a torrent site (lol), and the lyrics form most of the songs I demonstrated above were constantly in my head. And now im listening to it as well. If your a heavy metal fan, like most of you guys are here on this forum, then this CD isn't obviously for you. But if you liked there old stuff, or just looking for something new, check it out. I highly recommend it.

I just got the cd this afternoon, and it's different from the rest of the albums. I really wish Mike Shinoda would have rapped more on this album. One of the reasons i like LP is cuz it wasn't just one genre and and you weren't listening to just ONE person...it would go back and forth between rapping and singing...and in my personal opinion, thats what makes Linkin Park good. I like both singles though...I just miss the old Linkin Park. Personally, i don't think they should have tried to be different...i think they should have stuck with they are known for. I feel indifferent about the new album. I might have to listen to it a few more times to decide whether i like it or not.

You guys know nothing about how the music industry works. Bands need to re-invent themselves in order to survive. Sure tons of people would have bought this album if it was like Hybrid Theory and Meteora, but it wouldn't sell like it would 3-5 years ago. Sometimes the re-invention works, most of the times it doesn't. Sure this stuff is not as hardcore as their previous efforts, for lack of a better word, but I don't think it's a total write off. I havent' heard the whole album, from what I heard it's different, and they'll probably gain new fans as well as keep the old die hard fans. You gotta remember, they had issues with their label and I'm not surprised if they had to make some sort of compromise musicwise. Also, their last album came out in 2003. That was 4 years ago, is everyone on here the same as they were four years ago? Is your musical taste and ideas EXACTLY the same? Probably not.

I've stuck with them even when people started saying they were emo. This new cd is really good but it's not very original. I remember when Hybrid Theory and Meteora came out, they had a very powerful impact and were different in many ways from other bands. This new cd doesn't have that power, it's just another rock cd.

I highly suggest the cd to any fans of the current mainstream rock line-up like myself. Hit up the song Given Up and What I've Done, they're pretty good.
