The Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo is available on the PSN. I'm downloading right now but it's nearly a gig. Anybody get it yet, and if so, how is it?

this is the same game as ninja gaiden, which i played in february 2004. Here i can tell you whatever you want about the game, it looks great, and it's a fantastic game with a great length and good difficulty.

It is a remake of Ninja Gaiden Black, which was originally released on the Xbox, with many upgrades: new stages and weapons, a major upgrade to graphics and 'direction', some FMV's have been replaced with in-game graphics cutscenes (even making some playable), and Rachel will be a playable character, with four chapters as opposed to Ryu's sixteen, and her own set of attacks and weaponry.

According to Andrew Szymanski, the player will get to experience the story mode from her own perspective. Other notable additions are at least one set of dual-wielding katanas, combat that now takes place on top of water while performing the water run technique, new boss fights such as Gamov, and new encounters of old bosses, such as an encounter with Ishtaros in the chapel in place of the Unawakened Alma, previously only a boss in the mission modes or in the final stages of Master Ninja difficulty, and a worm boss encounter with significantly more worms coming from all directions around Ryu.

Not exactly the same. Pretty big additions actually.

Well, I just got done playing a bit of it and I must say, it's pretty intense. The guy at the end of the first stage totally owned me though. I'm impressed so far and will probably buy it.

Is it me, or does blocking really suck ass in this game? I mean I'm getting totally raped in the destoy all enemies mode because I can't block. It's not like I'm not trying either. Blocking just doesn't work very well. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

then you must not know how to play, because i had no problem blocking on the original xbox ninja gaiden.

What did you expect? New gameplay styles? Thats what a sequel would be. This is a remake of a remake. They could not have made it any better. They even redid each animation and object.

i signed up an american account so i can download american PSN content, the europe content is fucking shit, but yeah i downloaded it and its great.

That's what I said rtard. Did you have to post that so you can feel slightly good about yourself?

Also, when they redid all the animations, bumped up the framerate, added new weapons and duel-wield abilities, and playable cutscenes as well as a new character, it does not play exactly the same.

Fucking hell, I'm playing the game on very hard and can't beat it. I beat the Rachel extra missions on Master Ninja though.

yes it plays EXACTLY THE SAME RTARD. jesus christ you think it's a brand new game, it's not, it's like the 2nd special edition. it plays EXACTLY the same, the only time it doesn't is when you play as rachel.

The framerate has always been 60 FPS too, no change, added weapons etc... no shit, still plays the same.

well your in look, the original ninja gaiden you couldn't switch difficulty and it's average was about very hard.

fun game, but challenging.
