I also used to love Time Crisis and House of the Dead, wasting away a shitload of cash in the arcades. The pedal worked brilliantly, but for some reason, people used to scratch the screen with coins, which was annoying and completely pointless.

There was another gun game I played in the arcade, one with real-life FMV. I think it was in the style of a western and had some of the most campy acting ever.

Silent Scope was awesome - I need to play that again.

EDIT: I forgot about Duck Hunt, the first ever light-gun game I played. I just used to cheat and move real close to the screen. Oh, the originality.

Nothing makes me happier than inserting coins (or cards, whatever) into both slots of the original House of the Dead game and taking on zombies John Woo style.

The only problem with light gun games for consoles is that they're usually just ports from arcade and are really short games to play. You can easily beat the same in a matter of hours because that's all the time you need in the arcade version.

Lol they used to have that at an arcade not far from my house. I would blow all my tokens on just HOD and Silent Scope.

But when it comes to light gun systems, nothing beats the Nintendo "Zapper" and "Super Scope"

I like them. Sometimes I just don't care about the story and want to kill things. HotD series was good but I think Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii will be great.

Point Blank and Time Crisis on the Playstation were fantastic! It's a real shame we haven't seen anything that great in ages. Sure HotD was good, but it was too short.

If they made a GOOD light gun game that would be awesome. I suspect with the power of the PS3 and 360, they can make a decent gun game.

Project Horned Owl and Elemental Gearbolt are two of my favorite Light-Gun games. Of course you have to love the Virtua Cop, House of the Dead, and Time Crisis series of games.
