would ebaums be cooler without mods?

With the deletion/name changing of all the "possilby iin" threads... I've come to the conclusion that ebaums forums has the atmosphere that would go nicely without mods.

Maybe 1 mod, at most... to delete whatever kind of weird kiddy porn videos that might show up in the picture section, and the occasional over-the-top threads.

But I dunno, it just seems like it'd be better without mods.

I'm sure this thread will get locked or deleted, like most threads regarding the mods do... but I'm just saying, the mods are taking this whole gig a bit too seriously.

Their serious nature just doesn't coincide with the lax atmosphere of the posters.

I agree about the changing of the subjects of the threads was lame.. Because a mod didn't like it, he or she changed it.. A warning would have sufficed, instead of censoring things they found irritating. It was going a little too far.

Personally, I think the mods should be more lenient. I know that they have to put up with tons of bullshit, but that bullshit is what makes this forum funny. At least just lock the bullshit threads, don't delete them or rename them. Noobs asking for dumb stuff and swearing is hilarious to me.

I got banned once for posting the "doublemint twins" picture in a thread about bubblegum and the ban message said it had nothing to do with the thread I got two weeks for a cartoon nipple that was barely 3 pixels big... when a few hours earlier PHdrillsargeant linked to a website with two full frontal male nudes (puppetry of the penis) and never got banned

maybe the mod who banned me is gay I dunno whatever floats his boat

all websites need mods but for christ sake lighten up with the nipples over here a kid can go buy a newspaper and flick to page 3 and see a real pair of tits

I think we should have an adults only part of the forum only open to those over the age of 18 (you state your date of birth when you sign up so a script wouldn't be hard to make)

This forum would be dead in a week without anyone moderating it. Every day this forum gets spammed up by bots, all day. We delete 10-15 threads of spam in this section alone in one day. Not to mention every time there is an invasion we are there cleaning and banning. We mods have a real life outside this forum, and we devote countless hours to you the members without any kind of pay. Staying up till 4 am deleting kiddy porn on a Saturday night is not how we like to spend our evenings, but we do it anyway for you the members.

There is a reason that this forum is considered to be one of the best on the internet, and that is because of the staff we have enforcing the rules to keep this place enjoyable for you the members. It's simple, dont break the rule and you wont get banned. If you have a problem with that, then leave. Period.
