I'm bumming around eBay and I can find an NES with zappers, games, and accessories for $30. I can also find Power Gloves (I love the Power Glove. It's so bad.) for the same price. By the way, I know it doesn't work for shit. I just want to wear the damn thing.
So, my question: Should I get the NES, and if so, with the Power Glove?

The NES might work. They are 20 years old now, but with a little work, you can make them work. You might have to change the 72 pin connector inside in order for it to work. And of course, you have to do the old blowing method.
NES fucking kicks ass, I use to collect NES games, and have 100 or so right now. BOTH of my NES's are broken though, I need to get around to fixing them.
And why by the power glove just to wear?

i would buy the nes, go for it. just be careful that they're not selling you a box only of the nes. i would get just for the classic games. man do i miss those games.

There are clone wannabe NES's floating around, because companies are claiming the 20 year old patent on the original NES has expired. The fake one's apparently work just as well as the original, and you'll probably have less of the blowing cartridge issue to deal with.

Hmm, kinda risky. The NES has really lost a lot of it's market share. You don't want to get stuck with the next dreamcast.

My NES is in mint, but I'd never play it... If I ever need to play NES; I'd just use an emulator. :)

Save up and get a wii and play virtual nes games on it. The controller's exactly the same.

My NES broke years ago and haven't played one since. I would love to play one again.

It just looks damn cool. Plus, it pretty much asserts my geek status. I can become the alpha geek!

The toploader NES console is the one you have to pay the big bucks for because they never fucked up like the frontloaders. I found one at a thrift store for $10 bucks once and got $100 for it in eBay. OF course, I stilll have another one for playing.!

Or we are probably over the age of 18 and value nostalgia and/or go for gameplay over graphics.

My original one is long lost, but the one I currently have I bought from eBay in 2001 and it still works fine. Definitely worth having for nostalgic purposes...plus it's just fun.

My roomates and I smoked a few bowls, popped in super mario 3 for our NES, and beat every god damn level on every god damn world (minus any secret ones we didn't know about) from start to finish. Thank god the game never froze and we had enough tv dinners to last us the multiple hours it took. I'd spend a few bucks if i didn't already have an NES
Or as some else suggested you could also use a NES emulator if you want to play NES badly, and buy that NES to PC adapter to make it realistic. And no blowing cartridges or freezing games, provided that your PC doesn't suck.
You can always get a GP2X (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-4ga5-71-d1-49-en-84-j-70-uq6.html) that way you play NES on the go.

Why don't you just get a Wii and downloaed NES games through there? Odds are the NES you will receive is going to stop working within a couple months anyway.
