Christmas 2008... Which system will be on top?

Which system do you think will prevail at the end of 2008?

The 360 can continuously give a solid lineup of games, while the PS3 slowly but surely releases killer apps.

From the many things about the PS3 revealed recently, I wouldn't doubt a complete 180 for it. But then again, the 360 doesn't need to improve on its software, only its hardware.

The Playstation 3 should pull into the race, 360 and Wii will stay at their stadge.

But some games actually coming out for the Playstation 3 should start too shift it.

A friend of mine said a Sony rep came to his store and showed off Home and Ratchet and Clank.

He says R&C would be THE game for him to buy a PS3 and that videos and images doesnt do it justice and that it looks "Pixar like"

That won't be till December, until then he's very pleased with his 360 and bragging about only getting 1hour of sleep because of Halo 3 Beta

EDIT: Wii sales will dominate imo but I feel the hype is dying.

Probably the 360, but I wouldn't count out Sony from pulling something.

Sony has lots up its sleeve. From Home, to Littlebigplanet to killzone 2, too its exclusives which everyone ignores (Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword etc), too its HD movies, to its free online service.

Shit a couple of months ago, no one had heard of Home or LittleBigPlanet. Only a select few people have seen footage from Killzone 2 and Sony's new Eye-Toy is turning up some really innovative games.

Where as the Microsoft has already laid down all its cards, Sony is keeping its hidden.

Nintendo will sell consoles, however nothing really intressting will come out of it.

The Wii has quite a few big hitters coming out. Metroid Primer 3, SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil UC, and NiGHtS. I think the Wii will do pretty good.

MMm i still think it's a bit early for the PS3, so it will be the 360 IMHO.

Although easily by 2009 the PS3 wil be equal, if not ahead of the 360, the wii will go downhill in 2009.

Again just my opinion.

Christmas 2007

Winner: XBox 360.

With a year on the other two consoles, the XBox 360 has a much larger gaming library than the other two. Nothing should really change within the next year.

PS3 is too far behind now, but some will fly off the shelves Christmas time after a price cut sometime this year.

Wii will remain stagnant, likely selling a generous amount of consoles come Christmas.

Christmas 2008

Winner: TIE - PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

The PS3 will have unveiled a ton of new games. The XBox 360 will share a similar line-up. The non-exclusives will do well on both systems. Home will have soared to life and LittleBigPlanet will likely have become the phenomenon that its gearing up to be.

The 360 will have major shooters out. Depending on Halo 3's release date, it could overtake the PS3.

The Wii will hit some highs with some notable releases (Galaxy, Brawl, Prime 3), but it will have lost its hype.

Christmas 2009

Winner: Not enough information, but I'd go with the PS3 by default. Have to see how 360 does in 2008 to make any sort of prediction though.

i believe the ps3 will end up being at the top at the end of the year. it's being predicted by many game sites and some game magazines out there. this is mainly cuz there will be more games released for the ps3 this year than the other two consoles. plus there are many exclusives on there as well that should help the ps3 make it to the top. as for second place i see the 360 with wii following in there.
