Jesus fucking Christ I'm getting tired of these hillbillies down here.

I'm selling one of my pick ups and I had this little exchange over the phone this morning:

Me: Hello?

Hillbilly: You is askin to much fer yer truck.

Me: What the hell are you talking about?

Hillbilly: I sold one the same year for $2000.

Me: And your point is?

Hillbilly: You is askin to much fer it.

Me: You called just to tell me that?

Hillbilly: I'll give you $2000 fer it.

Me: No.

Hillbilly: Well I only got $2000 fer mine.

Me: Did yours have all maintenance records since new? $1000 worth of rims? Custom paint? Low miles? A CD player? No dents and in perfect mechanical condition?

Hillbilly: That's not the point, I only got $2000 for mine and that's all I'm gonna give you.

Me: Call me if you want to pay $3000. Bye.

6 hours later he calls me again.

Hillbilly: I decided I wanna buy yer truck.

Me: For $3000?

Hillbilly: No, for $2000 cash dollars. I done told you that's what I was fixin to pay.

Me: I already told you I won't take less then $3000, why would I've changed my mind in the last 6 hours?

Hillbilly: Because that's how much I sold my truck fer and that's all it's worth.

Me: Tell you what, the truck is for sale to you, and you only, for $4000.

Hillbilly: That's to much, I got $2000 fer mine.

Christ. How do some of these morons make it to the age of maturity being so fucking stupid? Just because the truck he sold was worth $2000 he figures all trucks of the same year and make are worth only that.

I need a fucking drink. Or twenty.

For the record, here's the truck I'm selling:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v246/percypbird/trucktoy.jpg

It's a 1988 Toyota V6 4x4, 158K miles, engine, tranny & rearend were all replaced with factory new Toyota replacements between 32K and 38K. I have all records of everything done to the truck from the day it rolled off the lot new till now, including oil changes every 2500 to 3500 miles. The interior is almost perfect, everything works, the tires have 80% tread and the truck has never been abused. Low Kelly Blue Book for this zip code in FAIR condition is $3400.

$2000 my ass.

I swear if he calls back again I'm going to go hillbilly on him...

"Well, I reckon I could sell 'er for $2000 cash dollars if you throw in yer 14 year old daughter. She's just 'bout ripe for pluckin and she's got that thar purty little mouf."

Then again, that may be a bad idea...he might agree to the deal.

Nice truck. Did it have the Head Gasket issue that most 3VZEs suffered from?

I think you paid too much for the rims, $600 tops.

Never any issues with the head gaskets and the rims weren't $250 each. I have 5 (One for the spare) and 5 extra brand new center caps. The wheels were discontinued when I bought them and I figured I may as well get the 5 extra center caps they had left, just in case something happened to mine.

The total price for the 5 rims and 5 extra caps with tax came to $970. If I remember correctly the wheels were like $170-$175 each.

I did try and get him to throw a couple of goats in with the cash, but alas he was playing hardball.

Did you ask him how sex with his first cousin was? I mean if he thinks she's cute and good in the sack you could have worked a trade for the $ 600.00. Well, her and a trunk load of shine.

Why do I hear banjo music?
