speed test: maine> new jersey using 5 mb cable connection
1872 down, 353 up

Stop downloading porn while playing? Actually, make sure nothing it uploading or downloading in the background.

If you can change your rates like in CS:S/CS1.6 than change them.

Does it lag like that in any other games?

Reset your modem and router. I do it whenever I get shitty connections and it fixes it for me.

I have the same problems with Call of Duty games. It also occurs in Battlefield a lot, which would lead me to guess that the problems are because of shitty coding. I don't lag a whole lot in CS or any Source games. As an Adelphia/Time Warner customer, I am plenty used to lag spikes.
