I was in an EB games store today and I hesitated to buy this game purely because I don't know anything about the prior SNES version.
Anyone else picked it up or tried it yet can let me know how it was?

I didn't know it was out. I was thinking of getting it but I dont have any money and I want to get The Darkness instead. Maybe I'll rent it. A Dutch reviewer gave it a 9 but I dont really trust the Dutch.

i'm waiting for reviews, but it's multiplayer only and it's $60, fuck that. give me the darkness.

I picked it up today with "this game is going to suck" mentality in my head. But its proved me wrong, this game is amazing on so many levels. From the graphics all the way down to the gameplay. They balanced it out well so that the pc and console players neither have an advantage. The combinations of magic and guns you can use seem limited at first but you quickly find out that you dont need much more than what they gave you. From teleporting through walls to creating giant walls of crystals to block your enemies off all while taking pot shots with the sniper while gliding across the map. Granted a single player would be nice, having just online is great too

I would play this game in a heartbeat. I'm just pissed I have to pay for fucking Live Anywhere to play with consoles. Fuck that shit, I don't want to pay $50 a year to have 13-year-olds yell "YUO STOOPID HACKIN FAGOT!!11!1!" every time you kill them. The money overrides the satisfaction of fragging these stupid assholes. I anticipated the console/PC online would be free and out of nowhere they announce you have to pay. PC gaming is built on the concept of free online play for everything except MMOs.

I've had xbox live for 2 years and that hasnt happened to me since Halo 2 came out.

The SNES version is on my top 5 favorite games, but im not picking this one up, simply because i cant stand FPS.

this game is awesome my firend showed me it and i was like well this looks bad, but all my friends were getting it so i was liek o well i will then i got it and the more i play it the better it gets its like a fast paced bf2
Yeah most of my buddies said the game "looked" like shit. Anyways I convinced my friend to sacrifice his money so we could find out, and damn it is hella FUN!!!
Today all of us are grabbing it right away so we can get used to the hard as hell combos.

I was unsure about it too - thus I haven't picked it up yet.
I played the Genesis version waaaaaaaaay back and loved it. Supposedly they've basically rewritten the Shadowrun world, but that really only makes the die-hards mad. Doesn't matter if the game is good, I may try it if/when a demo comes out for the PC.

i plan to purchase the game this weekend. after reading reviews and watching some gameplay vids, i'm convinced it will give me the faced pace action of halo with the 3rd dimension of crackdown.

I didn't know the new one was out either.
I liked the Genesis version better than the SNES version, but not by a whole lot. I'm going to wager that those games really have little or no bearing on how this one looks or plays at all.

i went to 2 different stores today, target and bestbuy. target had a service rep guy with a luke warm IQ who thought the PC version would run on my xbox. my response to this was "....(5 second pause)... no, it cannot". best buy, i couldn't flag a rep down to see if they were hording them in the back. Perhaps i would have had more luck if i were wearing safety green with sparklers sticking out my ass. they lost 60 dollars of business :(
tomorrow i shall try EB games and circuit city!

after purchasing it about 3 hours ago, its official: shadowrun rocks. the gameplay is simple and weapons generic, but a good kind of generic, the stuff tribes, team fortress classic and CS are made of. the only difficult part is learning what to look for in enemys (my first game i lost most of my money for TKing).
Fuck I can't find a copy, so I'll try tomorrow.

i went to target and best buy yesturday, they had none. today i went to ebgames (they were sold out) and circuit city, which had 3 copies left. so RAWR

LOL I tried Best Buy, Eb Games, Microplay, VGP, Future Shop, all had none. So I'll try some smaller shops.
