Smart move not putting the current generation on, just about everyone would pick those and mess up your poll.

N64, without doubt.
Even with PS3 and 360 on the poll, I still would've gone for it.
OOT - Greatest game ever. Then it had the 2nd best with Goldeneye :D
Too bad it didn't have an array of great games, but it did have like 6 amazing games so it makes up for it.

^^^ I agree. N64 was the most fun I've ever had with video gaming.
Ocarina of Time, original Smash Bros, Mario 64, Goldeneye, Mario Kart, etc. Nothing but games that you can have true fun with without having to take it too seriously.

Perfect Dark for the N64 is the greatest shooter ever made.

Voted N64. I actually like what the GameBoy has done for the gaming market more, but I'm not sure if that would count.
The 64 just carries some of my best gaming memories with it. Super Smash Brothers parties, hours upon hours of Goldeneye. Zelda OOT, probably still my favorite.
The PS1 gets an honorable mention as well. I wasted so much of my life playing Twisted Metal 2 with friends.

Good god! The fucking N64?! Yeah, Perfect Dark, Conker, Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Goldeneye, and Star Fox were good, but most of the other games were shitty, juvenile, and blurred all to hell. The controller looked like some kind of fucked up plastic tooth, games that were multi platform were censored up the ass, the library was smaller, carts couldn't hold a candle to discs (granted, loading times are a bitch), and the games for that beast almost always cost more for longer periods of time. It was a lot like a big clumsy kid's toy.
I wanted to vote SNES, but I've got about 40-50 games for my PS1. I've got plenty of fond memories with other platforms, even the N64 of course, but the PS1 was mostly where I got my happy.

I forgot a lot of you guys here are younger than me, so I guess the N64 being a popular vote here really isn't that surprising. No, that's not a jab, sales records consistently showed that the younger gamers usually went for the N64 and the older gamers went for the Playstation.

SNES. Some of Nintendo's best games ever came out for that, and the replay value on them is enormous.

N64. The reason N64 was probably the best game system is because it was basically the first game system that came out with good games with good graphics. Zelda: Ocarina of Time was probably the best out of the games.

I'm surprised so many people chose N64, i'd say that was my least favorite system i've owned. The games on that system sucked for the most part, except for classics like Goldeneye, Mario 64 and such.
Haha i'm the only one who chose the NES? What's wrong here?
I voted for the ps2. So many good games for it its unreal. The only pain is that it didnt come with a hard drive.

Playstation...
Resident Evil, Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, all the games i played growing up.

Playstation. First system that really blew me away as a kid. I love my NES and Sega, but Play Station really made me just think "Wow." Spent tons of hours playing it. Only change I would have was from playing it in my basement to going across the street and playing it in my friends basement.
N64 is good with a bunch of classics, but it also had a lot of really fucking stupid, very child like games. And the controller, man if you defend that shit its just being a stupid fanboy that would defend a joystick made of donkey shit if it had N64 written on it. It was too big and awkwardly shaped and had too many damn buttons.

I have no doubt that N64 was the best. You can't beat 4 player goldeneye, mario cart, or smash bros.
