it will be good, but there is no "best game ever", there are too many games that are just absolutely great.

Halo 3 so far, through the BETA, has proven to be more akin to Halo 1, which was the best Halo. If Halo 3 becomes the true spiritual sequel to halo 1, then yes halo 3 will be great.

You're kinda reaching with that "best game ever" thing. Now, it is a kick-ass FPS with perfect online play as a series now, but its great for the fact that its such an easy, standard FPS. Best game ever requires a little more uniqueness and innovation and creativeness....Halo is good, but not the best.

I won't pay $60 for this, so maybe when it comes down to like 20 bucks I'll pick it up or borrow it from a friend. Personally I fucking love Halo, I've played many games on many Consoles, I've played many FPSs for that matter and Halo, as a Series, is one of my all time favourites.

Most people see Halo as "Some aliens caught up with them in space, they attacked and now they're at war", when it's not. I've explained a million times here before how huge the Halo Universe is and it's honestly one of the largest out there, even beating out most RPGs.

The reason I love it so much is because it's fucking hella fun and there's a theorist side to it. Bungie leave so much stuff in the game, like the number 7 is everywhere, but why? Birds in Halo 1 had the number on their wings. All the moniters are powers of 7. There's 7 Halos. There's meant to be 7 pires on the Ark, but in the video they released showing the Ark, it had more...So s it really the Ark? Etc, etc.

The beta just reminds me of the last two, I know its not polished, finished, whatever, but it still didn't excite me too much. I love GoW, so my standards are held to that, regardless of how different they are.

I played halo 1 and I didn't enjoy it all. It was little basic in gameplay and shooting every other second got old for some reason, which is odd because i don't mind fps. Rooms/areas were copy and pasted. Very confusing.

series is over rated to me. but multiplayer is fun.

i guess i'm a little spoiled from metroid prime series.

hell you can say the same about Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed which you will notice borrowed HEAVILY from PoP. I'm aware of who makes those games, i'm just saying, they're close at core gameplay.

metroid prime is good, but the aiming is pure shit and the constant back-tracking annoyed the absolute hell out of me. You don't backtrack and halo, and it takes you to a huge variety of different environments.

Yeah, but in this case it's an opinion of ingenuity I suppose. Halo has auto-regening health and quick respawning, which make it the frag monkey's game of choice. Personally I find the game absolutely skill-less compared to other FPSes of the same era, especially Timesplitters.

So if we were even voting for best X-box FPS game ever, it would still be Timesplitters.

As for me, yeah, I'd play it. Its a pretty tight FPS minus the server/host issues that are apparent in most matches...Its the best game at the moment for a bunch of friend just to jump on and play, and play a competitive, balanced fps at that. Plus, a lot of my friends are from H2.
