Eventually, I'm going to look to buy a mustang. Something to fix up and put some time and money into that I can enjoy when its done.
Now, the problem....
I can buy a 64-70 coupe/fastback and fix it up to modern specs with coilovers and EFI and such, I can buy a 94-98 thats running on borrowed time and redo it, or maybe even a 99-04 or 05+ by this point. Obviously the newer ones are better starting platforms, but I'm not really concerned with the amount of effort/time/money because I'll take my time.
I want it to have balls and carve corners. I'm really leaning toward 64-70 fastback or 94-98 cobra. What do you guys think?

yeah, those old caravans with a 5-speed swap are awsome :boink:
look for a nice fox body roller, their cheap and have huge aftermarket support.

how bad is the line of sight out the back of a 64-68? I know on the 71-73 mach 1's you can see about as much as ray charles.

Not bad, coupes of course are better for rear visibility.

try a 71-73 "fastback" (was it called a fastback for those years?)

Ha, the 1 inch sliver of view you get out of the old mustang fastbacks was priceless. Good thing they put that window there.

try a 71-73 "fastback" (was it called a fastback for those years?)It wasn't a rear window on those cars, it was an oddly positioned sunroof.
