- First level - You are attacked on a spaceship while meeting with the ship’s captain…action packed

- Play feels motion controls work better than dual joystick

- Super sensitive pointer in “advanced” mode

- Beam stacking ala Super Metroid

- Visor switch: Hold minus and flick Wiimote in certain directions

- Boss fight with Ridley at the end of the first level. Excellent difficulty curve by the time you reach the boss.

- Back tracking in MP3:C makes more sense than in previous Primes

- Extra development time was to give the game more polish. Nintendo wanted “Twilight Princess” levels of polish. Game is focused on Metroid fans and hardcore gamers, but still accessible to newcomers due to controls.

- Second level - floating city focused on exploration

- Larger environments, bloom lighting, better textures than Prime 2

- Corruption Mode not available in demo

- Play says it could be the biggest revolution in FPS gaming since Halo.

Pretty opinionated but it gets the job done.

At the moment I'm holding high hopes for MP3, I didn't really like the first MP and didn't even play the second but I hope I can get into the third thanks to the WiiMote.

Hopefully it actually does do what Halo did for Console FPS's, because so far I've been dissapointed with the Wii's FPS's I've played (Vanguard and Red Steel) because they've lacked a decent control setup and never utilised to pointer all that well.

August 20th, it's creeping up.

I've never been a metroid fan. Never even played one of the games.

The first stage sounds like halo 1.

Not to my knowledge, there's alot of Screenshots though, they look pretty good for a Wii Game.

bah this is the sort of game where you have to look at the way it plays rather than screenshots.

Me too. Once either SSBB or Corruption comes out, I'm buying a Wii. Or getting one from the site in my sig. Although I'll probably get antsy and end up only getting enough for a Wii remote. Which still saves me $40.....

This game will be one of the best looking Wii games so far.

You're missing out, man.

The 1st one for NES is incredibly badass.
Great atmosphere, music, setting. You get a
definite feeling of isolation outside of the hordes
of enemies you fight. Metroid games are notorious
for amazing boss battles. They've also always been
nonlinear as hell. Just finding the first 2 bosses is
a bitch. All the extra energy/missle tanks...my god...

Super Metroid was more of an elaboration of the
original (in gameplay), still an incredible game.

Besides the GB game Metroid II: Return of Samus,
the Metroid series took a bit of a break (about 7 years).
With the launch of the Gamecube, Metroid Prime was
released. It's gotten high praise, and won an award from
GameSpot for being the #1 most atmospheric game ever.
It's a FPS, but MUCH different than any FPS you've ever
played. It's filled with puzzles and platforming as much as it is
shooting.

Two GBA games were released: Fusion and Zero Mission
(a remake of the original). in '04, Metroid Prime: Echoes was
released for the GC. This also received great reviews.

In 2006, Metroid Prime: Hunters was released for the DS.
It received mixed reviews, but I thought the new multiplayer
was fairly enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to this one, as it determines whether I'll buy
a Wii, or not

So I just bought the first Metroid Prime at Gamestop for $5.99.. Never played a Metroid game before, but with everyone saying how great Corruption is going to be, I figured I ought to play the first one to see how it is

Havent played it yet.....hopefully its worthy of the great reviews it got

You're in for one hell of a game, man.

I can't stand looking at PS2 games after my 360.
Metroid probably has the best graphics of any
GC game.

You gotta buy the lottery ticket.....

Im not looking forward to this one all too much, since metroid in FPS is like kicking an 8 year old in stead of his little brother.

But it will cream me none the less.

I hope.
