All of a sudden it showed 3 red rings and the middle started blicking. :ahhh: I just turned it off yesturday and gave it a rest and about to see if it works again but the last time i did it only lasted like 2mins. Wtf happned? I wanna know if the queer in Enchanted Arms is alive! :wah:

mine had 3 red lights and it wouldnt turn on from the main power button I tried holding the guide button on my wired controller and it recovered

There 3 lights are random and can happen for stupid reasons, like I switched sockets in the wall and it recovered, a friends gave him the lights, as he went to ring MS, it just magically worked and never gave him problems.

Your best bet is:

Unplug EVERYTHING. Including PC Cables and Power Cables.
Plug it all back in.
Try.

If it doesn't work try switching Power Sockets.

If that fails hold the sync button and then press the eject button four times. If you get:

4 Lights
4 Lights
2 Lights
4 Lights

You need to ring MS. You'll get one of the new Consoles + the upgraded Heatsink and Pipe Technology + 1 year warranty + X-Clamp upgrade. After that you should never have a problem.

I've been following it up recently on ConsoleMods, XboxScene and a few underground places and they've been implemented pretty everywhere. Their main base is Texas where all the Consoles are sent, so yeah.

I'm pondering whether or not to open my own to check it out. There's a way you can see through the side vents to see if you have it, you look for a gold strip but you need an array of spy tools, I tried a flashlight and just looked a tit.

Time to send the motherfucker to McAllen TX. Most 360 owners go through this sometime or another. Evidently, MS thought it would be really effective to solder down the GPU chips with huge globs of solder that melt after a few hours of gameplay.

I just bought a XBox360 a week ago, and now after reading all this stuff about the red lights of death, I'm getting scared. Did I waste my cash on a machine that's gonna die in a week? Or for that matter, after the warranty just expires? Don't get me wrong here, so far, I love my 360. Actually, I have been a Sony fanboy for a while, but I recently bought a 360 because PS3 didn't have any games that appealed to me. When I got my 360, I was really happy with my purchase.

Now, I'm pretty freaked due to the fact that I could go to try to play a game of NBA 2k7 at any time, and all of a sudden, my 360 could just turn into a piece of crap. I've had my PS2 since about a month after its' launch, and I have NEVER had a problem with it. It's been through hell too. It's been on top of hot cable boxes, collected dust in my dorm room, moved about a million times, and it keeps going, even until now.

What's even more scary is that that Microsoft doesn't even respond to the allegations of the 360 having a high failure rate.

I know one thing: I am really enjoying my 360, and I haven't even taken it online yet. But if this thing craps out on me soon, I'm buying a PS3, and not looking back.

i had 2 send mine in, if it was a launce system they will fix it for free..on the oterh hand, dont play it on the ground, put it on a coffee table or desk if possible because on the carpet or floor the fuzz and dust clogs the vents and crap up and kills the system...atleast thats what gamestop said...

edit:TJizzles, if u play many 2k sports games liek MLB 2k7 or MLB 2k7 they tend to freeze alot, i thik its the way they make the discs or something, they get worn down really fast, many people say that. but with the red rings, i would send it in b4 ur warranty is done, and it it is done, buy a new one from 1800 4 my xbox then call 3 days later to save alot of cash instead of paying 120 to fix it, the warranty of 60 bx will cover it.

What about a little table with alot of dust. If so then i think that just adds up to the way my 360 broke. I'm thinking of geting a Wii for now and waiting for the 360 for my birthday. I'm scared of it breaking again.:(
