Ok, I finally bought SC, on vacation in New York, and have been biting my nails all the way home, itching to play it. Now that I finally installed it, I was ready to bask in all that is awesome, when *BOINK* a window pops up, stating I don't have the minimum system requirements. I have triple checked every requirement and I know I have the capable processor, the RAM, the hard drive space, the sound card and headset, and the internet connection. But I'm not positive about my video card. It's like 6 months old, I can play Neverwinter Nights 2, with everything beefed up it's a TINY bit slow, like barely, and all other RTS games absolutely fine. The video card I need is

"128 MB video RAM or greater, with DirectX 9Vertex Shader / Pixel Shader 2.0 support"

I really don't know what all that means. My video card is

Description: RADEON 9600 SERIES
Vendor: 4098
Device: 16720
SubSys: 1095766018
Revision: 0
CoreClock: 398
MemoryClock: 196
Driver: ati2dvag.dll
DriverVersion: 6.14.10.6430
VideoMemory: 268435456
TextureMemory: 315621376
OperatingSystem:
Version: Microsoft Windows XP
Build: Service Pack 2 2600

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Am I meeting system requirements? I also know that my Video MB is 256

I doubt the minimum system requirements are speaking the truth. This game ate my computer for lunch. I'm not really familiar with ATI cards, so I can't help you there, unfortunately.

You can't just post your dxdiag as your specs.

Supreme Commander taxes any system. I had a hard time running it on high with 4x AA and 4x AF at 1280x1024. Thats with a c2d @ 3.2ghz and a 7800GT. It seems to be very GPU dependent, so your not alone.

Your best bet would be to snag something like an AGP 6600GT on ebay for cheap to hold you over until you can upgrade to a more capable rig. That is if you are seriously interested in playing new(ish) games.

If they told you the real system specs, nobody would buy the game.

Supreme Commander is classed as a game for windows and therefore will only work if your system is running on windows Vista.

hope this helps.:ahhh:
