I was playing guitar hero 2 on my brand new xbox 360 which i had just bought about 2 hours before. It says could not read disk or whatever, I will return the disk in a while, ive still been playing the game for now. My question is is the scratched disk affecting the xbox 360 in a bad way?

Because if so i suppose i can exchange the 360.

also a quick question, what does the button right of the memory slot B do, and is it better to keep it on its side or standing upright?

KEEP IT ON ITS SIDE FOR THE LOVE OF PETE. Guaranteed you'll scratch a few disks if its upright. Also, don't move the fucking 360 at all with a disc in it.

thanks, i didnt move the 360 with the disk in it. the scratches are on the outer rim of it, they arent like straight lines or anything, just like circle around the edge.

Yeah. The 360 has a few issues. Google to see if its a real problem for your console of if it was just a fluke

it is, it always was.

Your console hasn't got those buffers on the egdes of the tray. Give MS a ring, they'll replace your game and may exchange your console, hell you might be lucky and get the new Heatsink/PipeTech versions.

Yeah when I first got my 360, I moved it from its upright position and it scratched the hell out of my Rainbow Six: Vegas disc. I found a tutorial on how to add a foam patting that puts an end to that problem.

its from changing it from horizontal to vertical while the game is running. i like to call it the ring of death. it happened to my friend's GoW. sucks. making it vertical does it too

keep it on its side, the little button next to the memory card thing is for registering wireless controllers. you press the one on the controller and the one on the xbox at the same time and it picks up the signal. and yeah, you probably moved the xbox while you were playing that. if u do that, it automatically scratches the fucking shit out of what ever disk is in there. happened to me with 2 different games.

so th 360 has a lot more games......

but many of them simply serve as food for the 360 to eat...not to play...

I was round my friends house, and i joked to him about tiliting his 360 while Dead Rising was in it ... he dissapeared upstairs and brought down his old Gears Of War disk ... had a nice big ring round it.
