Just happend to my friend, apparently Forza 2 is bricking peoples Xbox 360's.

New site (http://gamerush.zoomshare.com/files/my_images/GameRush_Entertainment_Mass_Xbox_360_crashing_Forz a_2_forum_gets_over_900_replies_News.htm)

In a thread over at Forzamotorsport.net, there are now over 900 replies regarding 360s crashing due to Forza Motorsport 2. The pages go on and on with frustrated gamers and their stories. Many of the replies state that Forza 2 is the only game that causes the Xbox 360 to crash. It seems like this is a widespread problem.

From Forzamotorsport.net Forums:

"Add me to the list. Mine freezes up about once per hour also, although its been getting worse. Console is well ventilated and in horizontal position. I've had the freezing problem and the "To play this disc please insert into an XBOX 360 console" problem. It occurs at the start up screen, in the menus, in the races..every part of the game. Like most people on here, Forza is the only game that I've had this problem with. When it freezes up I get a clicking sound from the console like a CD player skipping. Its frustrating cause I'm really addicted to the game....when it works."

"If we have problems, they should be fixed. Free. Because it's this game that is causing it, regardless if it's the 360's fault in hardware, THIS game is causing the hardware to fail and freeze and of couse I'm mad because I had to buy a new 360 because my old one BRICKED while playing Forza (no prior problems) and now my new one bricked too (playing FORZA) and I have to send it in for repairs. Within one week of buying it, my brand new out of the box 360 got 3 red lights. Because of FORZA."

Thread with hundreds of complaints (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/1/178846/ShowThread.aspx)

I see how this thread can be seen as an attack on the Xbox 360 and how it is highly likely going to turn into a shit fest, so for the sake of everyone please divert any slagging off into Here (http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/showthread.php?t=143663)

As for normal people, this is just a warning that you might want to be careful with Forza 2.

Yeah I noticed it too. It locks up when changing from the race screen to the menu once in a while. I can't see it doing any damage though.

Not nearly as annoying as the scratched C&C disc I have from gamefly right now.... Hurray, finally beat that hard ass mission... load screen to video.... brrrpp this disc is unreadable

oh good, I get to play the whole mission over again... super

Yah its frozen maybe once or twice on me, usually when the disc gets dirty but thats about it. And ive played probably more than 60 hours on that game on and offline. Maybe they sent out some bad discs who knows. I love the game too much to care.

Watch what you're saying...bricking and freezing are two WAY different things. Bricking anything makes your stomach fall out your asshole.

I'm on my 2nd copy of R6V 'cause my 360 killed the disc.

it bricked mine. i think. i could never get forza 2 to work, it would freeze on me, so then i just continued playing shadowrun. then last week shadowrun froze on me and then i got the 3 red lights. i think its from forza. thats the only game i had freezes that worried me. cause no other game would freeze and if it did i would turn it back on and it would work fine. but forza would freeze for everything i did.

i think it has to do with the game demanding alot of performance from the xbox, and it over heats (with the weak ass cooling fan). i had the same problem with CoD3, the game would freeze every hour or so on xbox live. probably due to the extreme pwnage i laid down upon others.

I laid down the extreme pwnage in Shadowrun.

Are there any 360 cooling systems out there yet that are worth a damn?

I'll play you in a week, I lent it out to my friend.

i suck at gust except when the noob elves stand there and think i don't have it. i'm more of a troll man but i like to use the sword (to get the different acheivements)

It's something to do with the game, not with the 360 itself. It locks up when you leave the racing screen, that should be a low CPU load spot.

Not really, best bet is to keep it in a well ventilated area. Mine is in a partially enclosed TV stand, but I put a small electric fan (switches on when my receiver is on) on the shelf to keep fresh air coming in.

I played the demo round me friends house, are those arrows that guide you round teh corners always there?

They go away at higher difficulty levels (or if you turn them off of course)

I play FM2 almost exclusively and have never had a single lock up.

DefJam ICON freezed up bollox loads on my 360, not experienced forza 2 yet tho, other than that most other games run perfect, gears of war bugged out a couple of times tho, but only in singleplayer.

Air Conditioning
Not in an enclosed space
Extra fan if you want

But no, don't use extra cooling systems right now. That's what messed up alot of 360s back in the day, the nyko intercooler or whatever it was would melt things and fuck up systems.
