Top 2 picks, no surprise.

Celtics went and screwed the pooch. Not surprised, but disappointed. Ray Allen is on the downside of his career, and giving up the 5th pick, as well as a very solid young player in Delonte for him, blooooooows.

I think the celtics got a great deal.. allens still really good, and i doubt jeff green and those other nobodies are gonna do anything that he can do

Well Celtics maybe worried if they dont do better soon Pierce may want a trade. Allen should help us do somewhat better. But yeah D West was my favorite on the Celtics.

D West would have been (and will be for another team) a solid starter for a decade. Allen is on the downside, and still doesnt make us a good team, unless Jefferson can average 20/10 and one of our big guys learns to play defense.

I wanted Horford, Brendan Wright or some other big dude whose name escapes me.

I think the celtics trade is good if they want to win now. In 5 years, allen and pierce be shells of their former selves and the team will have to build again for the future.

Pierce + Allen + Big Al
This should be very interesting, trading the pick is worth it, im sick of drafting rookies every year.

But the Celtics arent going to win now, because they still arent good. We now have no point guard to speak of (Rondo is real raw, Telfair sucks), Allen is fragile, and he cant play defense.

We'll make playoffs alright, but that doesnt mean much.

any1 know why the Trailblazers traded Zach Randolph??

Ray Allen is on the downside of his career

I dunno... he's only 30 and he just averaged 26 ppg this season, his most ever. He has 4-5 more good years left in him I think.

I'm interested in this Sean Williams guys the Nets picked up, I never knew about his offcourt problems. They say he's a huge talent so I hope they can straighten him out and help the team out.

Oh yeah out of BC (otherwise I'd have never heard of him). Amazing shot blocker, still a few years off on the rest of his game. They never said why he got tossed out.

Yeah I know its time for a change. Its fun going to Celtics games but they lose everyone you go see haha. What they win 12 home games last year? I think they had 24 wins total.

Yeah I wish the C's got Williams.

somechick121

Celts were on the way up though. I think another 2-3 years (and a new coach and GM) and we'd have a very solid young team that would be strong for a while. Now...we're going to be good enough in the east for a couple years, then who knows.

Danny wants to save his job.

So why didn't the Pacers get any picks?

I think Joakim Noah should've gone higher than he did

YankeesSuck
06-29-2007, 12:44 AM
Dam you do know your sports for a girl.

Yeah without question we would have a good team with all these young players. But if we did just keep drafting them, Pierce probably would ask for a trade cause he wants to soon. We would get good talent for him obviously. I think they may have a chance at their division this season.

somechick121
06-29-2007, 12:45 AM
We could win our division with 45 wins. Or 40. Its that bad.

Well the guy probably doesnt have much family here and had no place else better to go. Also, he may have wanted the experience. I mean, it was an unorthodox move, but its not like hes a loser for it.

WTF, Larry?! The Pacers trade a 2009 2nd round pick for freaking Stanko Barac?! He'll probably never see the NBA or learn to speak English

Signifying that it's Oden's team (and Roy's). It's a terrible trade on paper for Portland but his apparent attitude and big contract were hard to move (except to the Knicks of course). I probably would have liked Portland to keep Dan Dickau good role player.... Expect Francis to be bought out.

Am I the only one who thinks that Portland could be a serious contender in a couple years with Roy, Aldridge, and Oden?

No add Frye to that mix with Webster (who I really like).

The Spurs made another balls-out pick. Tiago Splitter is a lottery class international talent and 7 footer, who only went so low because he is still under contract in Spain thru next year.

San Antonio obviously doesnt have any pressing needs, so I bet they just locked up more great years of Spurs dominance.

another reason why it was a good trade for the celtics

Ray Allen + Allan Ray

ha ye i know i just thought it was really funny. I have never seen anything like that at a draft so i just thought i should have mentioned it.

This pick and Marco Belinelli to GS were perfect. And Tiago Splitter is the best name ever.

The trade of Jrich was less then perfect for GS...not sure how Brendan Wright will help them especially when they are always drafting young potential in the front court all the time.

5 gators went in the draft, with 3 in the top 9. Just like I predicted in another thread.

Allen is actually nearly 32 and had quite a bit of injury problems last year. I'm kind of glad to see him go even though he is money at 3 point but he can't play defense at all. The only SG to not decline during his 12th to 14th season is KG.

I could see Portland and Seattle doing very well the next decade.

1. Luke Ridnour/Earl Watson/Mike Wilks

2. Wally Szczerbiak/Damien Wilkins

3. Rashard Lewis/Jeff Green

4. Kevin Durant/Jeff Green/ Chris Wilcox

5. Chris Wilcox/Robert Swift/Johan Petro

Because z-bo is the single worst 20-10 player in the NBA. He is a horrible team player.

portland had an amazing draft
they got oden
josh mcroberts who played with oden in HS
and taurean green

all very well coached players, they drafted well late which was good for them.

I'm upset and happy with the celtics, they moved wally who was nothing but a suit and tie most the past 2 seasons with injuries, and got glen davis, whom i like and will proabbyl fit in well with all jeff over the next couple of years. I dislike the fact that we gave up a very good up and coming player and a number 5 pick for ray allen. allens got mayb 5 or 6 good years left in the league and i doubt he'll want to stay their barring an amazing season.

Al jeff should be a beast next year, i mean he was this year, but next year he'll get better looks and more assists with better shooters to kick to and more spread offense. and who knows maybe the celtics will sign gerald wallace :prays to fuckin god:

To make room for Aldridge to start and improve along with Oden, as well as knock $30+ million off 2 years sooner. Plus he had some off the court issues, doesn't play very good defense, doesn't hustle and can be a ball hog. None of which applies to Aldridge.

Anytime the Bulls get a damn top 5 pick it screws up(besides 2004). Jay Williams blew his knee out on a motorcycle accident. Marcus Fizer blew. Tyson Chandler blew. Eddy Curry was traded. But when the legendary draft comes(2003), they miss out on LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Melo. Or in 2007, Oden, Durant. Draft sucks.

Chicago got a Good defensive, high energy post player in Noah. He will fit into their system well and will be a good off-the-bench player his rookie season.

It was a good pick.

No Low-Post Offensive Threat. They are going to be crazy good on defense.

I think the Ray Allen trade was good for the Celtics. There comes a time when you got to chlll out on the 19 and 20 year olds and get in some proven veterens. Ray is 32 ,but he had his best season averaging 26 a game last season.

I think they got a good 3 to 4 year run coming up with Allen ,Pierce ,Jefferson.

If im Boston id consider trading Jefferson and ratliff's expiring contract to get Garnett. Celtics would be the best team in the East for 3 to 4 years.

pacaveli
07-08-2007, 03:33 AM
if u think the wolves are gonna give up garnett for ratliff and jefferson your smoking crack.

the reason i don't like the trade is because the celtics always fuckin do this, for the last 10 years

shooting guards and small forwards and undersized big men.

Yeah we get it you want to run and gun, BUT U NEED A BIG MAN THAT CAN RUN AND PLAY DEFENSE TOO. Im happy we dished wally, i really am, he's done nothing but get hurt the past couple of years. i wanted a center or point guard, instead we trade delonte west and get another shooting guard small forward player. WE NEED A GOD DAMN CENTER i love al jeff, but theres no way in hell he's gonna play center this year.
