1) Of my only 2 minute video, the last 2 seconds are cut off. No other video site cuts anything off. I had someone tell me in an e-mail from ebaum that they have seen this before and were working on it. That was many months ago and they have since vanished. Does anyone here actually work for the company and address problems (only caused by this site)???
2) I have tried to change my video description from several different computers, from different locations, with different browsers. (IT WILL NOT CHANGE). Repeating, does anyone from ebaum actually address problems only caused only by this site???
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey nezello how u like deez forums so far? Pretty helpful if you ask me.
nezello,
To troubleshoot this further i will need:
- your username
- a link to the video in question
- the original video file you uploaded (please email it or post to filesharing site like rapidshare, etc)
Also, please answer these questions:
- have you tried reuploading the video again since you originally tried it "many months ago"?
- have you tried editing the description recently, or was this "many months ago" as well?
- how did you originally contact eBaum support? Through email? What address? Have you tried contacting us since then? If so, what address?
And for future correspondence please be aware of the following:
I thought I was clear with the problems. They are listed above. Fixing the problem is how you can help. Thank you
You absolutely were not clear. You were (and continue to be) simply rude and demanding.

The only piece of the above quote from your first post that actually describes the problem you are having is the first sentence. The rest of it is you whining about the problem. Even the first sentence is way too vague to actually do anything about the problem. We have literally thousands of videos uploaded to the site, it would be impossible for me to troubleshoot this further without more information.
2) I have tried to change my video description from several different computers, from different locations, with different browsers. (IT WILL NOT CHANGE). Repeating, does anyone from ebaum actually address problems only caused only by this site???
Again, I still don't know what video you are referring to. Also, even though you mention several computer, locations, browsers... you don't even give one specific example. What operating systems are you running? Which specific browsers, including version numbers?
To put this in perspective for you, imagine calling your cable or satellite company and just yelling into the phone "It's broken, please fix it." The company doesn't know who you are, where you are calling from, what sort of hardware you are using, what the exact problem you are having is, etc.
Also, to be treated with respect and in a timely manner, please be as thoughtful and thorough as possible with your posts. Typing things in bold and red, whining about the support, and making accusatory remarks WILL NOT get you taken care of quicker or better. It actually has the opposite effect, assuring the staff that you are most likely a whiny pre-teen who lacks the intelligence to help us troubleshoot and correct this problem.

Jay, I have a suggestion...
I have been banned a few times for ridicules reasons, I don't want to get into it because its not worth it, I tried asking for a refund on my premium account due to the complete lack of 'banning leniency', but I was just ignored.....
Anyways, it would be nice if mods would put their username in their banning message, and also, they should all have a working email address in their profile, and I will tell you why!
The first time I got banned for telling someone not to post porn I tried signing up again so I could talk to the mods because I genuinely thought it was a mistake, but when I signed up I was immediately banned by catgarvin, she was literally sat behind her PC with her finger hovering over the banned button. I tried signing up a few more times just so I could speak with her, but she banned me every time before I could PM her, but if she had an email address none of it would have been necessary. In the end it turned out it wasn't a mistake, and quoting someone who post a porn link means that two posts have to be deleted, and this apparently deserves a 10 day ban, even with banning leniency for premium members...
So yeah, mods should sign their banning reason and all mods should have a working email address.
One more thing, your rules clearly say 'no warez', yet people are allowed to post links to full illegal movies, why is this?

StOiNk, you're so full of shit it's not even funny. I can't believe you're still whining about this.
Yeah, you really wanted to contact a mod, I guess that's why you made that account and just started posting. Grow up.

Yeah, the mods around here are pretty full of shit most of the time.
Jay, if you see this, PM ME, we had an issue to discuss, but you more or less stopped responding.
Stoink, you are bit off topic. Should've posted somewhere else.
Rerat, you and I have no discussions to finish. I'm not a mod and can not help you get free premium.
Nezello, I'm awaiting your reply.

yea i think some of the mods are too quick to ban and make the length too long. dont get me wrong, you do a great job keeping everything organized but are quick to ban people. i made a comment in the picture section and was banned for 3 days and can understand how people could take offense to that but still i made it as an obvious joke. then in the video section i made a simmilar post and was banned for a month. i think that it's ridiculous because it was not offensive to all. maybe someone was upset with it but i meant it as a joke. and this is ebaums world, right?
i have to agree with stOiNk's idea of having every mod having an email adress that we can contact or at least some way of getting in touch the mods. I was banned last year and my account deleted for no reason in december or january last year. I tried contacting mgunit through email. waited a week. no response. i tried again and also tried to talk to him over aim. went on a short vacation and still no response from him. so then i said fuck it and remade another account.

The mods are pretty decent here. The only place that I visit that moderation is lacking a bit is the car forum
I'm your man. Someone make me a mod in the car forum. I don't even want the pay. I just want to clean the place up a bit.
I've got years of experience running websites and forums. I'm a fair and balanced moderator. Hook me up damnit.

i have to agree with stOiNk's idea of having every mod having an email adress that we can contact or at least some way of getting in touch the mods. for the most part people only get banned for a few days, but people act like its the end of the world. It's a rather fair means of addressing a situation, Mods can only make a call on what appears to have taken place, sometimes it gets kind of convoluted an example in one case would be two people in CE lobbing racial slurs at each other, from on perspective it can be seen as two people breaking a rule of personal attacks to the posters it could be a situation less crucial and more a situation of two posters yucking it up... it happens.
As a Mod I try and make an attempt at clearing it up a PM or hitting someone up on AIM, and try and get things sorted out... you'd be surprised though some folks just get belligerent about the whole thing in fact get just down right ruse, truth of the matter is I really don't have 3 hours to spend arguing a position. It's a lot easier to just ban them. That's a tough call to make at times... but if anything Mods opt for a temp banning more often than a perm banning I'd say almost 90% of the time. When in truth nothing is really lost big deal you take a few days off, see the outside of your home maybe even get the car washed... and caught up on some homework.... but there is a population that come back with a grudge. Rather petty IMHO, seriously folks a temp ban is fuck all. Why get pissy about it?
Some times a ban is on the money other times we are off the mark, as Mods we try and run it against one or more other Mods before we act, but that's the ideal situation, we don't always have that luxury to make it simple the Mod Team doesn't expect perfection within the posters of the EBWF community it's only fair that the posters have the same expectations of the Mod team.
As per email addresses about bannings... I get saturated with PM's every time a poster takes on the 'cause' of a banned poster... I really don't think it's necessary nor do I see it a value, not to mention the barrage of PM's I get on small issues or issues I need to re-direct to the Admin staff.
We need to accept that things happen and we address it in a mature manner and with patience things get sorted out, people just need to learn to be cool.

Chewy, be honest with me now… banning leniency for premium members doesn't exist, does it? Its just added to the list to entice members to waste $25 isn't it?
To me, an example of banning leniency would be to see that a premium member has innocently quoted a porn link and told the guy who posted it that he could get banned for it, some may describe it as a gesture of kindness. The complete opposite of 'banning leniency for premium members' (IMHO) would be to take the attitude of 'I now have to delete two post, that deserves a 10 day ban!'.
The rule breaking there couldn't have been any less insignificant if you tried, yet a ridicules ban was put in place. I just don't see where the banning leniency was in that decision.
If you pay money for a service, and the service provider throws all the rules out the window the minute you make the tiniest slip up, you're not going to be happy. Sure you can tell me to get over it, and I have, it was a long time ago, it was only a ban, but it still pisses me off when I think about it, you can't blame me for that.
It would also have been nice for a certain mod to maybe PM me if a debate is getting heated in the C/E section rather than just slapping a ban on me then telling me afterwards that personal attacks are not allowed, I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure I called someone an idiot. Most of my posts are made in the E/N section where pretty much anything goes, I'm not familiar with the C/E rules, maybe I should have been, but yeah, I broke a rule and got banned, so fair enough I suppose...

Chewy, be honest with me now… banning leniency for premium members doesn't exist, does it? Your still posting correct? Meaning that you were not permanently banned banning leniency speaks more to permanent banning that it does for temp bannings.
You say you got over it... but I'm not seeing that, seems your still flogging a dead horse.
The rules in CE are posted and they are very clear, Mods are not required to give a heads up, I have had more problems with posters in giving them heads up PM and them doing noting but bitch about it with every claim from I'm attempting to censor them to me being power hungry, its a great deal easier and faster just to ban them for a few days and state what their offense was. I learned from my last attempt to address issues via PM's as it tanked, I'm not in a hurry to go back down that road.
I find it so odd that so many people take exception to a simple temp ban. IMHO it makes their priorities in life look a tad bit skewed a temp ban does not effect your ability to post in the future, remove all your posts, publicly humiliate you, strip you of your Premium Status, cost you money, inhibit your use of the internet or a jail sentence, it fucking time out from EBWF.... a time out that's it. all and all its simply a slap on the wrist. When posters get worked up about it it boggles my mind.
A temp ban costs you nothing, take a break, have a shower and meet a few people in a coffee shop and come back and post a thread about you getting laid. Everyone wins. :boink:
Temp bans are a respectful way of saying dude, normally your a better poster but today is not your day, take a day or so off hopefully coming back at your top performance because if things keep up the way they are going one of us will have to show you the door. I can only speak for myself and what I see from the other Mods but no one here likes banning someone permanently.
But the bottom line is a mods job is a reactionary position much like an umpire is you may not like all the calls that get made but its that position that allows our posters a chance to play and play hard. Sometimes the calls go your way some times they don't but you still get to play here. I dunno what else I can say other than I think its a great place to be but if you are unhappy here maybe this is not the right place for you, but I'm guessing it's just one of those matters where you just needed to vent and get on with with life.

I'm sorry I thought saying the last 2 seconds of my video were cut off explained my problem correctly.
Jay as I said a previous eBaum person I spoke to (via e-mail at General Emails: general@ebaumsworld.com) said they were totally aware of videos being cut short. So I in turn thought you would know of it as well in your data base and perhaps could tell me why (my only video) loses the last 2 seconds and what is the fix for such that I was told was in the works but not notified.
My user name: nezello
Yes I've uploaded the video since and (last 2 seconds are still missing).
Yes I've tried editing my description recently (it does not change).
I am using Windows XP PRO service pack 2 & Windows Vista (with all the updates) on multiple computers from different locations with the Internet explorer browsers 6 & 7 as well as Firefox browser 2.O all with the latest builds, patches and updates.
Here is a link to the video: There is a download tab in the middle below the video between Blog/Embed Player (Download Video) Blog/Embed Player
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/358345/judge_judy_is_rigged/
Thanks Jay I look forward to the fix!
nezello,
To troubleshoot this further i will need:
- your username
- a link to the video in question
- the original video file you uploaded (please email it or post to filesharing site like rapidshare, etc)
Also, please answer these questions:
- have you tried reuploading the video again since you originally tried it "many months ago"?
- have you tried editing the description recently, or was this "many months ago" as well?
- how did you originally contact eBaum support? Through email? What address? Have you tried contacting us since then? If so, what address?
And for future correspondence please be aware of the following:

I downloaded the metacafe version, and reuploaded it myself to emuse. It produced the same result you are talking about, where a second or 2 gets cut off at the end.
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/28626/
I then took that file from metacafe, re-encoded it manually with Windows Movie Maker, and then uploaded the resulting file to emuse. This time the problem is not there.
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/28634/
This leads me to believe that something happening over at Metacafe, like the way they encode the video or something, that is causing our encoder to cut off the last second or 2 of video. It's basically out of our hands.
My advice would be to always use the original version when uploading to emuse.
I can email you the version that I was able to successfully upload, if you don't know how to use Windows Movie Maker to make a new copy yourself. Just pm me your email addy.
I'm still looking into the description problem, thats a bit harder to troubleshoot. Can you tell if you are able to change the description on any other videos you upload?

I had a similar problem with my own site. Its hard to explain but flash players need to stop just before the video finishes. The flash player I use stops a fraction of a second before the actual runtime of the video, so its barley noticeable. But the flash player I used before that stopped a full second before the video was done playing.
Try downloading the flv file (look in the source code) and play it in VLC media player (or a desktop flash player). If it plays all the way through then the problem is with ebaumsworld flash player, otherwise it’s a problem with the encoding, and there isn’t much you can do about that!

I'm going to go out on a limb here in defending the moderator's work. I would assume that they are not getting paid to be moderators. If they are actual staff, they would most likely be spending their time working with advertisers, servers, content, and general website maintenance. Dealing with the last two seconds of a video (which I would be interested in seeing at this point, it better not be two cats playing) or settling forum feuds is not only a time sink but time badly spent in the interest of the company. If mods are volunteers, then wow... you're doing god's work.
So... I'll I'm saying is be nice to the mods and say please. They aren't the enemy, it's Al Gore and this monstrosity he created called the internet.
edit: can I push to can this video completely? Do you really think that Judge Judy is an actual valid legal courtroom in the United States, and that she (or the bailiff) aren't actors? Do you really think that you are exposing the system or something? Of course it's set up, it has been for like 40 years or so. They throw out their cases and reenact them on TV, and the show pays the expenses as well as the verdict. It's television dude, not the actual legal system at work. Jesus.
