Lets hope you play better against Paraguay, than you did against Argentina.Although saying that, most teams don't stand a chance against Argentina.

I did hear the USA has not got any of its best players at the Copa America for some reason.

Oh dear oh dear.

Well after Argentina showed you where you actualy stand compared to big teams Paraguay give you a lesson in football too.

The Gold Cup doesnt seem that competative now does it.

Bob Bradley is pulling the ol' Arena, putting in the old guys that he has faith in that can't do shit. Fucking Ben Olsen? And did Tim Howard not prove himself in the Gold cup? Being a person who occasionally makes it to Rapids games, there are probably a hundred people in the MLS more worthy to play on the national team than either Beckerman or Hercules Gomez. Also, 3 players from Chivas USA (Bradley's former team) that I have either never heard of or never had before the Gold Cup.

Calm down guys, get the facts before you start basing the current state of American football on the performance of the team in Copa America. Since the states got an invitation to this tournament, it doesn't count as an international tournament officially. So, most European clubs either aren't allowing their players to play or are leaving it up to the players. Considering they are coming off of a full season and a full cup in the weeks leading up to it, most of the best players on the US team are either not allowed to play or chose not to. Onyewu, Dempsey, Bocanegra, Howard, and Beasley...out. And a lot of the MLS guys don't want to take that much time off from their normal clubs for 2 tournaments. Donovan, Hejduk, Ching...out. Look at the starting lineups from the Gold Cup championship game and the two games in the Copa America...there are almost zero players on both. It's funny how Brazil loses to Mexico and only beats Ecuador 1-0 and all you hear about is how they don't have their best players. But the States lose to Argentina and Paraguay and all you hear about is how they suck and it's finally a true showing of their skill. It's ridiculous.

Yes ok,but in my opinon this was the perfect opportunity to show the south Americans and the rest of the world, what you can do at the top level.

I know it was only an invitation, but the US should be in the copa America by default being from America and all.

Soccer needs a push in the US and they don't do themselves any favors by going to a major tournament just to make up the numbers and going out without much than a whimper.

I do think that because the way the USA treats soccer,ie its a game that girls play and so on. And the rest of world treats US in the respect of soccer. That the US has to play twice as hard to gain recognition.

So i think not taking the copa America serious and not getting the good exposer that it needs, was not the brightest idea.

We all know that if soccer did ever take off in America that it would become a soccer superpower which would be a bad thing and a good one for the game.

I agree, but I also agree that two intense international cups in a row is a lot to ask of guys who just finished their seasons and guys who are currently in-season. I mean, it's Brazil's national competition and they aren't even fielding a full team.

I know it was only an invitation, but the US should be in the copa America by default being from America and all.

It's the South American championship...what can I tell you. Just how the Gold Cup is the championship of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Soccer needs a push in the US and they don't do themselves any favors by going to a major tournament just to make up the numbers and going out without much than a whimper.

I agree again, but I will say that a lot of the problems come from timing and from the player's teams not allowing them to compete.

I do think that because the way the USA treats soccer,ie its a game that girls play and so on. And the rest of world treats US in the respect of soccer. That the US has to play twice as hard to gain recognition.

This is a vast overstatement. Soccer is very popular here in the states. I play in Men's leagues that are overflowing with teams. It's not as popular as other sports, but it's a common misconceptions that "all americans" think "soccer is for girls and pussies", it's just not that bad.

So i think not taking the copa America serious and not getting the good exposer that it needs, was not the brightest idea.

I agree here too. I would have loved to see what Donovan, Dempsey, Beasley, Howard, Onyewu, etc. could have done in this tournament. But I also thinks it sucks that it started like 3 days after the Gold Cup final.

We all know that if soccer did ever take off in America that it would become a soccer superpower which would be a bad thing and a good one for the game.

Perhaps...
