View Full Version : Simple Question: Will A-Rod surpass Bonds?

Guess Barry will end up around 760-70 or something like that. Love em or hate em. What about A-Rod? He's only 31 and will continue to have good hitters around him, some say he could hit around 800! I think if he stays healthy he will beat Bonds.

I definitely agree that A-rod will pass him and guess what A-rod is probably just as hated as Bonds around the league! ironic?

He'll need the steroids to keep him healthy long enough, and I'm not sure he will ever be a steroid kind of guy. It's the only thing that kept Bonds going, and the only thing that ever kept Junior from being ahead of Aaron already is that he didn't take them, so he didn't stay healthy.

I think steroids won't be a factor. We will probably see a different type of Arod after age 35 first with significantly declining defense and a move to 1B probably and then a move to DH. He will probably still hit for average and power then but not much speed, eventually his average will fall off but he will still be a power hitter. That looks like 10 years from now and since he's closing on 500 already, an average of 30 over 10 years will be easy especially if he hits 40 over the next 5 years and that's not a stretch at all.

Yes he'll be the HR leader when he retires if he can stay healthy. I think he'll end up with about 850 but he might need to get out of NY to do it. Yankee stadium is one of the worst parks for a right handed hitter.

I hope A-Rod stays with new York and gets it, but if he leaves ill still root for him since that Roided up Asshole Bonds doesnt deserve a singe HR

Man A-rod is on pace to do all sorts of amazing things, Just being on pace does not mean anything tho really. I hope he stays healthy A-rod is an amazing player, Yea he'll pass Bonds. I hope so anyways. I wish Griffey woulda been healthy his entire career, woulda been something else to see.

A-Rod has a chance at it, but something tells me its not gonna happen. I mean many things have to go right for the rest of his career in order for him to hit that 800ish mark. I will guess he ends up with 720ish.

My post count is another issue though, its closing in on bonds and closing fast.

everyone says its a sure thing and im like, 'so many things can go wrong, just hang on'

He has no reason not to break the record but who knows

Why would anyone hate A-rod, there really is no reason. People are pissed cuz he has a big salary, but he puts up big numbers so its justified, well to an extent.

im not a big fan of A-Rod myself, but hes a shitload better then that cheating asshole Barry Bonds. So i am going to be rooting for A-Rod all the way.

I agree with this. I will be pissed for awhile if he leaves new york though, but then ill get over it and want him to take the record from roids boy

LOL thats hilarious.

But yea, Arod is amazing theres no reason to hate, but for sure many things can go wrong to slow his fast pace towards the record books.
