I think we should drop some of the punk stuff. Some people don't care who you think is a "sell-out" and who's "punk" and who's a "poseur" and who is "real punk". Don't label anyone. Just be yourself and let everynoe else be themselves! Wahhh! :D

theres different kinds of "punk". Sellout bands aren't considered punk by the real punk scene, only on MTV. If you meant only the "punk" bands on MTV should be stopped then I completely agree, but you sounded more general, so I voted no.

Well, i meant..don't label people, i guess. (I should have been more specific lol) We shouldn't have like "punk", "goth", and all the other uhh categories. Err, yeah. Nevermind, i have different ways of lookin' at it.

I dont agree. If we ddint have labels of music it wouldnt work. Someone comes up to you and asks what kidn of music do you like. You cant name a categorie so your just gonna say music? Ya I like music. It sounds retarded. You need groups and categories no matter what. Because theres a huge diffrence between rap and punk and there not even close to the same kind of music.

I remember when i just thought of things as either rock or rap, and i'm glad they have other genres such as metal, punk, etc. But after a while i think its useless in my opinion. For example the other day my friend was telling me that you cant say just metal, you have to be more specicif by saying metalcore, death metal, black metal, mathamatical metal, thrash metal...i dont know maybe i'm just too lazy to learn which band is in each subgenre, but its basically all metal to me. sorry for the off topic..ness

I didn't mean kinda of music. I meant saying that bands call themselves "punk" and then people say they aren't. It's all about opinion, pretty much. Something that's "hard" to someone could be soft to another.

that's a good point.
didn't punk rock start as more of a frame of mind than a musical style with bands like The Velvet Underground anyway?
