A-Rods agent is saying he wants to get him over 3o million dollars a year, I guess thats good news for me and other yankee fans since no other team will be able to afford him.
What does everyone think of this though?

I dont blame him. He has taken the yankees on his shoulders this year after getting crapped on by so many fans. Sure, he hasnt been clutch in the playoffs, but when you give roger 28 mil for 2/3 of a season, 30 doesnt seem that bad for a player who is possibly the greatest to ever play.

ya. those are good points. I just hope the yankees find a way to keep him.
I dont care about his playoff average, he plays good all season to help NY get in the playoffs

Nobody in any sport is worth 30 mil/year.
That's rediculous.

ESPN said if he becomes a free agent the Red Sox will make a strong push to get him, fuck that.

Most of Red Sox Nation would not accept him. He's the douche who tried slapping the ball out of Arroyo's glove, and throwing an elbow at Pedroia going into 2nd. And the guy that Varitek socked right in the mouth :bigwink: But I think Theo and the ownership are smart enough to realize that we don't want him, at all. To be honest I think we're saying that we'll push for him just so the Yanks pay out for him, because if not us there arent too many other teams who can put up this sort of money.

I'd like to see him go to Boston just to see what the new HR records would be.

He'd be on pace for 92 until some drunk Sox fan charges the field and beats him down. Deservedly so.

lol.......
if he stayed in texas in a homerun hitters park and stayed on pace the way he was, he was on pace for I think close to 1000 homeruns if he played until he was 43. He is a very good player, though i dont think anyone in my lifetime will ever hit 1000 homeruns, he will challenge Barry bonds, and hank aaron soon enough.

A-Rod would go nuts if he played in Fenway 81 games a year, with the left field wall so close to the plate.
I'd also go nuts if he played in Fenway 81 games a year...not in any good way...
Now Griffey, if he didnt leave Seattle and get hurt, he could have threatened 1000 homers.

i think i heard with his pace he would be around 700 right now. 300 HRs to go, heck even 200 HR,say he plays 5 years, thats a 40 pace, thats a really hard thing to do.

Yeah, he's a douche but could you imagine a 3-4-5 of Ortiz, Manny, and A-Rod? :boink:
But I don't see it happening. A-Rod will sign with the Angels next season.
Quote me on that.

That argument is long gone. The high price of contract salaries are a diffrent debate and have no place here.

As a Yankee fan, and a baseball fan. A'Rod is the best player in the game, if not, top 5, and has been for over a decade. He deserves it.
Its not A'Rods fault. Please drop Mussina and get a REAL ACE. Johan Satana must be a Yankee.
