Before this thread kicks off let me say,

If you went to see Transformers you have no right to make fun of this movie because you're just as retarded.

I know you would, but your "how can you make such a movie" statement should be applied equally to Bay's work.

No they're not. Don't get me wrong, I think Michael Bay is a poor director and his cinematagraphy is the saving grace of all his films, but he realeases work far and few between to even draw a comparison. Although the Pear Harbor movie is just plain unfogivable.

Thinking about it now, I think he is the MTV of cinema. I'm going to say yes he is, but I heard all right things about The Island.

Credible all right things.

C'mon The Rock was good.

Through a purely entertainment stand point, just like MTV. Bay was too fucking retarded to see and use the best things in the movie. Ed Harris had the best character in the movie and they hardly spent any time with him. There should have been much more between him and David Morse's character, and the rest of the marines were reduced to complete cliches.

Now I know the most obvious response to this is what I always get. "It was just supposed to be fun, it wasn't supposed to be anything deep." Exactly right. And that is exactly what MTV is. Its mindless entertainment for people who don't care for anymore. Only difference is love for MTV usually fades as you get older, which, sadly, doesnt happen with movies. And it is generally accepted to hate MTV and everyone thinks its completely justified, but when it comes to movies its all "who cares what other people think."

I'm not saying either shouldn't exist, I am entertained by some Bay films, and I watch a few shows on MTV. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy in everyone that bashes MTV when they do it, but ignores movies when they do it.
