Just watched it last night on Spike TV. I have to admitt, I wasn't really all that interested in it, but wow... did it blow my expectations away. I didn't see the full movie, only about the last hour or so. So I didn't get the whole benefit. But what I did see was utterly classic. Firstly there is the style... which epotmizes the pages of a comic book almost too greatly. Seriously, some scenes were just so damn cinematic that you couldn't tell!
So I'm enjoying this movie. Its got all my favorites in it... Michael Clark Duncan, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Rosario Dawson (who was FUCKING Hawwwt), and then... the bombshell... Jessic Alba.
OMG, srsly... she was so damn fine. Her little stage dance was absolutely rivetting. She's got dem curves. She has got those curves buddy, I'm telling you! She is just too damn perfect.
The movie was great. I'm actually kind of anticipating a encore presentation, just in case I missed any more of Alba... and well, to see more of the stories happening. This movie would definitely make for a great time to watch with friends on those late night over weekends. I was definitely suprised...

Sin City, wow they are already showing it on cable? Thats suprising, but you should see real version, not the made for tv one. Also if you enjoyed the movie you should go to your local Comic shop and pick up some copies of Sin City. I cant wait for Sin City 2 and 3 to come out. The real version is so fucking violent and awesome so go watch it then tell me what you think.

Surprisingly, they showed alot of violent scenes in the television version. I've never seen the film version so I can't really compare it, but they did show the guy getting shot in the nuts, they showed people's heads getting cut off and the like. I would like to see the unedited version in order to compare.

Yeah something I found interesting is that... large amounts of blood were all whited out. There were a few scenes when Rafferty and his thugs were dismembered in which the pools of blood were a bright white color. Is this part of the editing?
And there was an orange dude (who got to whip and take advantage of Alba) who bled a bright orange... is this another editing thing as well?
They also showed Willis tare his nuts off again, and then continue to bash his face in over and over. It was pretty violent, but again, all the blood was discolored. I don't quite get that...

No, it's always been like that. I watched it last night and it didn't seem like they messed with the violence too much.

It's an awesome movie. It has some comedic moments, too.

First off, the white blood is a callback to Frank Miller's Graphic Novels. Rodriguez wanted to be as close to Miller's work as possible (Which he succeeded IMHO.)
Second, Roark Jr. wasn't orange, he was yellow, hence the monicker "Yellow Bastard (Sorry I just wanted to get that out).
The yellow blood is another reference to Miller's work, It's possible the yellow blood was due to the reconstructive surgery Roark had done on him after Hartigan fucked him up at the beginning (I know, it sucks, but It's all I can say. I'm not very good at this).

I liked it a lot too, it had the same type of style as 300. That whole comic scheme really is quite awesome.

I liked the style and the visual approach - but other than that, I didn't see much in this movie. The story wasn't gripping and the way they mish-mashed the unrelated story-lines without giving you any kind of warning or transition pissed me off. I don't have any desire to watch it again.
Lol the two stories were pretty unrelated.

sin city 2 is rumored to star Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp in addition to the cast of the first that didn't die off...how sick will that be!
and they're also planning on a third

I quite liked Sin City - it was mainly the style and mood of the movie that gripped me.
