I can feel you there. Twisted Metal 2 took ages of my life. I also had an extreme fondness for a little known game called Novastorm.

Spyro was definitely the best playstation character. Now and days he sucks ass. The first playstation game I ever played was a Rugrats game. It actually didn't suck that bad.

Too bad Naughty Dog doesn't make the Crash Bandicoot games anymore.

But David Jaffe is supposedly working on a new Twisted Metal :D. I can't wait.

it comes with age.. everyone loses interests in videogames and each consoles hundred dollar games eventually...
esp. when you can buy ps1 games for 2 or 3 dollars now...

I was actually playing Destruction Derby on the PS the other day. I couldn't race for shit, but loved the Crash Arenas. "Go easy on the paintwork!"

It wasn't the best game on the PS, but it was still quite good fun. I was also thinking about buying International Track and Field for it earlier.

Oh, Tomb Raider used to be fun on it, too.

Nothing beats running towards the screen with a giant boulder chasing you. Now that was original. I still have all my PSM issues for some reason. It was honestly the one system I was completely satisfied in every way by.

I remember when it was N64 vs Playstation. I used to be a dedicated N64 player until my friend got a Playstation. I actually hated it and considered him a traitor for owning one (heh, i was only 9-10). Eventually I got a chance to play Metal Gear Solid and soon after I owned my own Playstation. I absolutely loved playing Twisted Metal 3,4, Vigilante 8, Final Fantasy 7, Fear Effect, GT2 and many other great games. I even managed to split my time evenly between the Playstation and the N64, with Starfox, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, The Legend of Zeld a OoT, Goldeneye, Cruisin' World, etc..

Unfortunately I can't seem to get the same level of fun out of the newer systems. I feel as if PS and N64 games were much simpler, yet contained something that I have yet to find in today's games.

the newer systems lose their replay value faster.
and/or are hard as hell..

I feel the same way sometimes. I mean, I still love games that are coming out today, but they aren't as satisfying as they used to be. A few titles manage to come close though.

Anyone that really misses the old RPG's of the SNES era, but really want to play something new... I've got a couple ones that are more recent.

Tales of Symphonia - Just a completely awesome game. The art style, sound, and story are very similar to the JRPG's from 10-15 years ago, and the gameplay is pretty great too. The battle system isn't turn based either. And the game has a great new game+ system.

Wild Arms 3 - Also a pretty awesome game. It's style follows the PSX era a bit more than Tales of Symphonia, but it's still fantastic. The battles are turn based, and the setting is a sort of wild west steampunk combination, which translates into awesomeness.

I don't know about that. Sandbox games are a fairly new genre, and they keep the replay value for quite awhile. And some of the older games are balls hard. Try Bayou Billie out for the NES, or some of the older SHMUP games, like Gradius.

Check out the Wahawk videos for the PS3 this fall. From what I've seen, it looks like game of the year material, if not game of the decade (at least if you like online games)!!!

for all you talking about twisted metal, there is a twisted metal 2 for pc that isonline, and there is a community that seems to play it often. I use to spend TONSof time on this game back in the day on psx with friends, best multiplayer game ever, just got it for pc the other day tho.

Search for tmalliance find the community's website

i only just started 2 days ago, and havent done the online yet, looks like you have to buy a id number to play.. but looks like its a one time fee.

Im sorry, but i thought the Final Fantasy series were the biggest waste of cash and time ever! Maybe its because i dont really like RPG's, but i just still thought it was way too overhyped!

I really enjoyed MGS, Medal of Honor, Gran Turismo, Driver (man that was awesome!), Driver 2 (even better!!), and of course Syphon Filter!!!
